IMO the 2" might be a regret especially if you drive on gravel roads ? you might have alot of paint chips from rocks kicking up

Re: I Want Spacers

I ordered from Lenny as well. Went with 1.25" rear & 1" front set up for the overland. I saw pics in this thread & felt that 1.25" fronts made the tires stick out too much, while the rear was perfect. I'm happy with the look & the better road feel.
As far as vibrations, I have a slight one. I'm sure it's not due to the spacers because I had a slight one before. Plus, the vibration is not constant...comes and goes without any pattern. Also when I installed the spacers I rotated my tires & I'm sure one of he rear tires, which is now on the front, is not balanced. I haven't gotten around to getting a tire balance done.

Re: I Want Spacers

Folks, I have a 2014 Overland with stock 20’s with the air / Quadra lift standard features, I’m looking at getting spacers, don’t believe it was confirmed that if 1.5”spacers were used that no cutting would be required, would prefer not to cut if possible. Also, anyone who using spacers on a 2014 Overland experience any issues with 1.5" or even with 1.25". Would 1.5" stick out to much with (265/50/20). Let me know please and thank you.

Thanks

Re: I Want Spacers

Can you guys tell me which ones your ordering? Is it the ones that say "Jeep JK and Grand Cherokee 1.25?

I thought I heard the Wrangler JK had different lug size than grand cherokee.

I have a 2011 grand cherokee laredo with 20" OEwheels. They are the black 5 star ones.

Your help is appreciated.

Re: I Want Spacers

Ordered 1" spacers from Lenny. That was as far as I was comfortable with as I don't like the look of tires sticking outside the fender well. I understand I will have to cut some of the stock lug nuts length?

Also, any issues with the spare mounting on the new lugs attached to the spacer?

Re: I Want Spacers

I finally got my 1.25" spacers from Motorsport Tech installed last week and am really impressed with the manufacturing quality. Especially nice to be able to support a local company in my area as well.

Although I am enjoying the new stance and quality of the spacers themselves, I've since felt a new vibration in the steering wheel that gets noticeable around 60-70mph. Driving around town below those speeds, they feel perfectly fine and perform like stock, but at the higher speeds, it's kinda bugging me. It definitely wasn't present before with the Forteras or my winter set either.

I'm not positive about the spacers being the culprit though, because I also had the stock Forteras put back on with new JK Moabs I've had on the back-burner for a while. They were balanced with the new wheels, but I think I may try another place to see if that solves the vibration while on the freeway. Do you guys think it's worth a try in spending the extra cash to test if that's the problem? Or does it sound like an obvious problem with the spacers?

I also found the instructions supplied with the spacers after installing (of course) and they suggested driving about 5 miles after getting them on, then re-checking and tightening the bolts again. I'm going to have the new auto shop check them whenever I get them re-balanced. Maybe they loosened up or something.

Re: I Want Spacers

YES .... defiantly recheck them and torque them to the specs.. if you still have an issue after checking the torque and re-balance. Notify Lenny I am sure he will send a new set you could have gotten a bogus one I am glad to say after 20000+ mi I have checked them Several times and No issues with them coming loose,

Thanks, JMP. I will get all of that done by next weekend hopefully and have some updates on the progress.

Again, I appreciate the quick response.
