I finally got my 1.25" spacers from Motorsport Tech installed last week and am really impressed with the manufacturing quality. Especially nice to be able to support a local company in my area as well.
Although I am enjoying the new stance and quality of the spacers themselves, I've since felt a new vibration in the steering wheel that gets noticeable around 60-70mph. Driving around town below those speeds, they feel perfectly fine and perform like stock, but at the higher speeds, it's kinda bugging me. It definitely wasn't present before with the Forteras or my winter set either.
I'm not positive about the spacers being the culprit though, because I also had the stock Forteras put back on with new JK Moabs I've had on the back-burner for a while. They were balanced with the new wheels, but I think I may try another place to see if that solves the vibration while on the freeway. Do you guys think it's worth a try in spending the extra cash to test if that's the problem? Or does it sound like an obvious problem with the spacers?
I also found the instructions supplied with the spacers after installing (of course) and they suggested driving about 5 miles after getting them on, then re-checking and tightening the bolts again. I'm going to have the new auto shop check them whenever I get them re-balanced. Maybe they loosened up or something.
