Re: I Want Spacers

I've got the 1.25s and I think they are perfect. But I have to admit I'm still rolling on the Forteras and I'm thinking of upgrading to the 275/55 and I'm worried that it might make them stick out too far. The rim width won't increase but the tire width might increase a little anyway.

Wondering if I should have went with 1". Like you all said, everyone was going with 1.25s so I did too.

Re: I Want Spacers

IMO I have the 1" spacers and its really all you would need for clearance , and looks ,, Im thinking the further you bring out the wheel the more stress you putting on the hubs ,,But hey thats just my opinion

Re: I Want Spacers

I'm not quite sure if there's any danger to the amount of increased "stress" from the offset. I'm sure there's an offset already without the spacers. In addition, the RRO 2.5" lifted GC's have 1.5" spacers. Either way, I chose the 1.5 for my future lift kit, not having to grind down the bolts (i have the ten spoke 20s), and because I want the rims to be flush with the top lip of the wheel well (it looks like the 1.25" almost does that). in the end, will I actually frickin notice 0.25"??!! Also, I was hoping everyone would comfort me and just say 1.5" is gonna look awesome!!!

Well compare them. this is a side shot of 1 1/4" stock height 20" rims and if another member with 1.5" same set up can post a pic I am sure that will help others in the future

Re: I Want Spacers

Bartman, your 1" spacers look great. I'm also very happy with my 1.25". Either way the stance looks much better! Very pleased with mine. Just had tires rotated, and it's been about 2K miles since spacers were added. Had the tech check the torque to make sure they were still good and tight... all were still at 85lbs torque- exactly where they were tightened to originally.

Anyone know of any options? I contacted SpiderTrax and they said they don't make anything for the WK2, which is different than the WK.

The BEST spacers I believe are from "MotorSport Tech" and here's their site:

Wheel Adapters, Wheel Spacers, Hub Centric Rings | Motorsport Tech

Also, I just installed these spacers yesterday on my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. And let me tell you, they look SWEET!!!

I installed the 1.25" spacers through the recommendation of the salesman at MotorSport Tech and couldn't be happier with them. I did a lot of driving since putting them on yesterday in ONE DAY and they DEFINITELY give the car a way better handling feel especially when cornering!

I also installed at the same time a new set of tires. I got the "HANKOOK VENTUS ST RH06 112W BW 265/50-20 "

So, with the combination of the tires and spacers the ride has become A LOT smoother since the Hankook Ventus ST's are WAY better than the factory Goodyears I just replaced and the spacers give me an overall total width difference of 2.5", the car is just so much nicer to drive. I even tested it in a parking lot where there was snow left that wasn't plowed in a Walmart near where I live. I had to pick up something there, and when I was leaving saw that the back part of the lot hadn't been plowed so I drove over to that area. There was about 3" of old snow left over there and the car handled great in it. I just went through a snowstorm here in Connecticut and the Goodyears SUCKED!!!! So I spent a few minutes experimenting with the new tires and spacers in the snow covered back lot. Honestly, they did great. Very great. Was very happy with how well they actually worked in the snow.

My opinion is, CAR TYPE, like the Jeep Grand Cherokee, makes a big difference as to how well your tires will perform. The combination of the Hankooks, spacers and the actual Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland were great!

Again, I changed the tires and added the spacers all at the same time. And like I said, BIG difference in ride comfort, stability and handling.

I was so impressed with how flush the tires have become once the spacers were added, that I called up MotorSport Tech when I left the Auto Garage just to say thanks and compliment them on what seems to be a very high quality machined set of custom hubcentric spacers.

The reason I choose MotorSport Tech spacers was because after reading about the different types of spacers, the HUBCENTRIC spacers that MotorSport Tech provided seemed to be the best choice than the other NON-hubcentric spacers available on the market.

In a nutshell, I have ZERO vibration with these spacers. I took pics of the install when it was up on the lift. The Hub Centric spacers fit perfectly. Like a glove and bolt right on to the existing hub. The machining was of top notch quality in my opinion and looked great!

Once the tires were mounted on the Rims and then balanced then mounted on the vehicle, the spacers showed how perfect the 1.25" spacers flushed the tires with the vehicle body. For the record, I couldn't STAND the non flush look of the vehicle as it came from the factory. But the spacers made it look how it should have looked from the factory.

Plus the stability difference with the wider base makes it A LOT safer feeling when turning and cornering.

I also had it on the highway doing about 90 MPH to test to see how the new Hankook Ventus ST's and spacers would perform and it was VERY VERY smooth, quiet and stable. ZERO and I mean ZERO vibration with the "HUB CENTRIC" spacers.

I read a lot of complaints with the spacers that were NON Hub Centric which is why, after reading this forum, and seeing someone on this exact thread recommend MotorSport Tech for their "top notch quality" hubcentric spacers that I bought them. Cost me $225 with delivery. And again, couldn't be happier with them. They came with EVERYTHING needed for the project. So kudos to them!

So, to end this long rant, TOTALLY TOTALLY TOTALLY would say that the best type of spacers would be the Hubcentric spacers and you can get Hubcentric spacers at MotroSport Tech.

Again, here's the link to them:

Wheel Adapters, Wheel Spacers, Hub Centric Rings | Motorsport Tech

And here's the exact tires I bought:

VENTUS ST RH06 - OnlineTires.com

I think this combination of spacers and tires is an EXCELLENT choice and far far better than factory offerings. Goodyears were OK, the Hankooks, again, after driving on them for a few hours, seemed to me to be absolutely EXCELLENT. The Hankooks feel to give me better grip and traction plus better braking. And again, in the snow parking lot, handled very well for an "All Season" tire. I really want to see how they perform in a rain storm.

Well, there's my 2 cents. I hope this has helped anybody looking for spacer and maybe tires as well.

Re: I Want Spacers

Hi, I got my 1.25" Motorsport Tech spacers fitted today, I've used them before on my 300c so I knew the quality and fit would be good.

If your using Altitude wheels and want to fit 1.25" spacers you will have to cut the original studs down about 7mm on the front and about 9mm on the rear, the end 4mm isn't threaded anyway so you don't loose much. After fittings mine I would say 1.5" would be a little too much but that's just my opinion as even with 1.25" fitted the tyres stick out a few mm but not too bad it would bother me.

Re: I Want Spacers

Ill post my 1.5" spacers pics later today once I get the jeep all cleaned up. They stick out a few mm but in my mind I thought they were gonna come out wayyy more. I wanna get wider tires now so it'll be more pronounced. Love the way it looks now. Looks lifted in my mind.
