Also confused why they would even sell it for the WK2, if its meant for harder off-roading. But the lack of interest probably speaks to its popularity thus far.
I base it off their reputation and typical use of the product. It looks to be rebuildable as well.

Well, at least some other companies are trying to dabble a bit with parts for our Jeeps. Can't say I'm in need of a kit that's so extreme or expensive though.

Thanks for the reply and info.

Tons and tons of other threads out there with people who've spoken about experience with the RRO kit. This isn't the thread for it. Use the search or Google it.

Thanks for the reply and info.
I've ben "lurking" for quite some time but pick up my new wk2 thi wednesday!!! STOKED! Is this icon lift argueably the best available right now? Any other people with experience other than this one guy. I've seen him in a few threads, but it sure would be nice to see more than one person with experience. Also forgive my ignorance, but is the suspension lift THAT much better than the spacers? Ride height is the same, but I would suspect the performance, ride quality, and longevity probably come into play here. Thanks for the help!

Congrats on your new Jeep and welcome.

First off, if you've read through this thread and the one on the other forum, then you know about as much as I do about it as far as specs and other people who've installed it. We are definitely limited on info compared to the RRO lift for example, because obviously a lot more people have documented their experience with it.

The RRO spacer kit seems like it works well for most people, but compared to the OME, Eibach and this kit, the spacers kind of fall behind in a few ways.

You should read through this thread about the Eibach All-Terrain Lift kit and the discussion over why some of the posters prefer a kit with specifically designed springs & shock pairings, with a designed spring rate for the increased lift height, as opposed to just throwing a spacer on with stock coils. As you said, it will likely be more durable long-term and have better performance overall.

Thanks for the congrats!

I have read about those and just went through that thread as well. My biggest thing between the lifts is my ability to get the tires I want. I'm thinking of sticking with 32s but really do want 33s. Problem I want to avoid is tire rubbing when off-road, even the little trails. I had a 2011 wk2 that had the RRO leveling kit with 32s and even pulling over a curb gave me tire rub. The thing I don't like about the eibach is the fact that it's 2". I know that's a hell of a lot more money to spend for just half an inch, but if it's the difference in tire clearance than it makes it all worth while. Especially if the only guy we can find with it installed is claiming 2.75"! And instead of just sticking spacers to fit my tires like the RROs, I really do want something that is off-road built.

Well if you're mostly concerned with getting the tires to be able to fit and getting a more quality kit than the RRO, without having to settle for a little less height than the Eibach provides, the Old Man Emu kit may be the way to go. Although, the only guy on the forums who's done a write up about the install on his, has slight rubbing with 32" 265/70r17 tires and I don't think there's much you can do to get 33's to fit without trimming/pinch weld mod and probably continued rubbing even after that. Granted, he does have from what I recall, +10 offset wheels, which definitely contributes to the rubbing, but I'd imagine it'll be fairly close no matter what offset if it's lower than OEM.

I'm aiming to install the Old Man Emu and get some 275/70r17's whenever my current setup wears out, that come in at 32.2" unmounted, but I'm even worried about those fitting without problems. Kinda defeats the point of off roading when there's no space for wheel travel, so I hear your worries.

But $2,200 for this Icon V.D. kit seems like giving up an arm and a leg without much usable benefit for what most owners will be driving on/in. So if you have an extra $1,000 or so to spend and really want to have the most durable kit, then this would be the one to get I think.

Re: Icon Dynamics 2.5" Coilover kit

Looks like the products for the WK2 are finally up on their site...

2010+ Grand Cherokee WK2 Suspension and Shocks - ICON Vehicle Dynamics

But...they seem to think the WK2 still includes the 2010 models.

Not usually the best thing to see for such an expensive kit, that you'd think they'd know a little more about.

Re: Icon Dynamics 2.5" Coilover kit

I just saw a Jeep at my local dealership with this lift on a white 2015 and it looked mean as hell. I'm pretty sure it had 275/ 17inch wheels and I don't remember the other number. It is definitely worth it if you have the extra cash due to the way it changed the way the jeep looked and sat. I hopped in and out if it and noticed a definite step down from the norm. Now if I could only justify the price tag for it, plus new rims and tires.

Sorry for not having pictures.

Re: Icon Dynamics 2.5" Coilover kit

I had their stuff on an Australian Toyota Prado, which is a sort of Tacoma station wagon kinda thing. I think you guys get them as a Lexus. Anyway, the performance of the suspension was amazing. I'd definitely suggest investigating the brand if you're searching for that "little bit extra".

Cheers,
Steve
