Unless the front hubs and bearings are changed the "shimmy" won't go away. The Hunter 9700 RoadForce balance machine will tell if the tire and or the wheel is out of round. There is no way in the word that you can tell if the rotating mass is out of round by looking at them while spinning unless there is something damaged. Get those hubs and bearings changed and your problem will disappear. Service Bulletin 27-003-14 identifies the problem and provides the repair procedure.

Already had both front hub/bearing assembly replaced by the dealer as per the TSB (see my previous post above). Made no difference whatsoever. Also had the road force balance done numerous times (front tires were 9 and 5).

Re: If you have wheel balancing issues in NJ- Read!

What they did on mine was install a set of top of the line Bridgestone's on the OEM 20" wheels. Before mounting the tires they checked the run-out on the wheels just to make sure the wheels were true. Mounted and Hunter RoadForce balance. Not much change in the shimmy. After determining the wheels and tires were good that's when they narrowed it down to the hubs. Have the wheels and tires been checked for out-of-round and true? if not, that's where I would look next. I know how much this irritated me so I set out on a mission to fix the problem. Please let us know what you find.
