Re: In the market for 22inch rims!

So I am still up in the air for the size, I have been going back and fourth between 20" or 22". Reason is I have a 16ft aluminium fishing boat and will venture down some dirt roads. Not off-roading but thought maybe 22" might be pushing it.

What are your thoughts?

Either go SRT replicas in grey 20" 285/50/20 or go with 285/45/22 ? I am hoping the 285/45/22 will fit without rubbing since people are using 275/55/20 without issues?

Thanks guys.

Go with 20s then. You will still get that nice look and maintain some ride comfort

There are quite a few people running the 20x9 SRT reps with 285-50-20's with no rubbing issues.

If you want to go to a 45 series tire, you could go with the 295-45-20 in either the 20x9 or 20x10 SRT reps. That's the popular size for maintaining the original diameter of the stock sized 265-50-20's.

I find these two web sites great a tire & offset calculators.

Re: In the market for 22inch rims!

Thanks for all the information.

Has anyone seen 285/45/22 work without issues? I did a search and found one user and it look very tight.

I don't want any issue with my dealer saying I used the wrong tire size if I have an issue down the road with the driveline.

Re: In the market for 22inch rims!

The 285-45-22's are really tight. This member is running them and he said he has a little rubbing on the front fender pushpins.
Anyone running 285/45/22's?

These guys went to a 285-40-22 & don't appear to have any issues with rubbing.

This member went with 22x10 +45mm SRT reps with 285-40-22’s.

Re: In the market for 22inch rims!

I went through the same dilemma as you. 20's or 22's but in the end went for the 20x10's with a 40 offset and going to put 295/45/20 tires this setup is as close as you can get to the stock dimensions. The only difference is you will be 1.2 inches farther out on the outboard side. Which should be a perfect look. 22's do fill the wheelwell very nicely but I actually thought they looked a little to big. Then there is the weight issue going with 22's will add approximately 17-20 LB's per wheel. I was not looking to add any more weight to the drivetrain. I just figured with the 20's was a happy medium. Good looking, no worries of rubbing, little or no weight gain. A very good site for info on wheel and tire specs is RimsnTires.com A very helpful and informative site. Hope this helps.

Re: In the market for 22inch rims!

Okay, need your help yet again .

Should I go with the dark grey wheels or polished. Originally I was going to go with the dark grey but have been thinking the Polished would also look good. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1425789782.756479.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1425789799.048562.jpg

I'm partial to the polished, but a lot of people on the forum have an aversion to the polished & chrome & would choose the dark grey.

What do you guys think of a alloy colour wheel or polished look for the granite WK2?

I saw a forum which had the overland wheels in 22inch ( I love the 20inch Overland rims but only if i could them in 22inch wheels would be ideal.

open to peoples comments and experience with colours which they liked.
Go with the chrome or polish 22. Its only for the summer. My experience chrome is hard to keep clean and have to watch what you use on them to clean. Not all cleaning agents are good for chrome or polish.
