Re: Installed Bora 1.25 spacers and KO2s only. Why is my steering wheel vibrating??

Hopefully it's all figured out now and it was a tire/wheel balance issue. I removed my spacers shortly after installing them because it was hard for me to swallow the whole 40 lug nut thing. I didn't have a balance issue with them, but I found some lugs seemed to rotate the entire stud on the bora spacer not allowing it to get fully torqued. Off they went.

Really? On your BORA spacers? I've never heard of anyone have issues with them. Did you try contacting them about the issue?

Yeah they were Bora's. There was a few studs that it didn't seem I could get the lugs completely tightened to torque. It was tight enough, but once I got a few of them snug it seemed like it was rotating the entire stud since it wouldn't get any tighter. I was not over tightening them either as I never over tighten lugs. I didn't like the look anyway and I knew I was going to just remove them so I never bothered asking about it. I just returned them to my retailer for a refund.

Re: Installed Bora 1.25 spacers and KO2s only. Why is my steering wheel vibrating??

i've lifted 3 vehicles ... all looked awesome lifted.... all drove "less nice" after. (83 cj7, 2001 WJ, 2012 F150)

my WJ was one of the early s4w teraflex lifts, so horrible took it off after a year, eventually put coil spacers and wheel spacers on. Eventually took those off too.

on this jeep I'm determined not to mess with the ride .... time will tell, they look so good modified but I hate degrading the long distance cruising just for looks. Nowadays vehicles are so tightly engineered that small differences like wheel spacers and offset can really echo throughout the rig - even the way wind hits the front tires/tread design can affect them.

Well I ordered some spacers just to see what they look like and if they affect the ride. I've driven JK's on 37's so I know about affecting ride quality.

do you have yours yet? I couldn't help myself, ordered BORA 1" front 1.25" rear but they haven't shipped yet ... still trying to decide if it's a good idea or if I'll regret it

my plan is to stay with p-rated tires though, hoping they'll keep the ride good

Mine will be here tomorrow. They took almost 3 weeks to get here.

Re: Installed Bora 1.25 spacers and KO2s only. Why is my steering wheel vibrating??

I'm about to just order new wheels that are the right offset and see if that helps. The vibration is killing me and I don't want to be chasing my tail trying to fix/rebalance my tires if it's the spacers causing it. I would just take off the fronts too see if that helps but unfortunately I just dislocated and broke a finger so lifting a big tire doesn't seem too fun right now.

Re: Installed Bora 1.25 spacers and KO2s only. Why is my steering wheel vibrating??

Make sure you go to a tire shop that knows what they are doing - I had my Duratracs mounted on 2 separate sets of wheels - 1st shop (friend at VW dealer) had a shimmy @ 60 mph - 2nd shop (deals with off-road tires and lifts) did it right with no problems.

Anything that's even a 'little' off will be magnified with larger tires and spacers

Call them. I've never had a problem there. Not responding to emails is not poor CS.

if they offer email as a point of contact and you can't contact them by email, ima go way out on a limb and say that'd be the very definition of poor customer service

i could call them, or we could play "do they need my money, or do I need their spacers, more"
