Re: jacking wk2

How much does your Jeep weigh? Multiply that weight by at least (safety factor). How far up you want to lift it?

I'm using a 3T, works perfectly...

If you do a search on the forum, you will find many threads on them...good luck.

Re: jacking wk2

Go for a high lift suv model rather than just any old jack. Sears sells them, a few others do.

Then, pick up a couple hockey pucks and use them between the jack and your vehicle.

jacking wk2

i use my Big Red 3 ton jack with urethane jack pad for normal lifting duties along with a pair of 6 ton jack stands from harbor freight... Also with urethane covers. This jack takes about 4-5 pumps and my tires are off the ground. Not so sure about the hockey puck idea, doesn't seem stble enough for me.

I also have a Craftsman 2 1/4 ton trolly jack i take with me on road trips to use instead of the stock jack. This also makes as a great secondary jack to use while doing suspension work.

Re: jacking wk2

Someone else had mentioned the hockey puck idea long before me.
They work like a charm, but I used a Dremel to notch one side to match the cup on my jack.

That worked so well, I then cut a slot in one for the front jacking point, and then got real ambitious and cut the one for the rear so it fits in that rear jack point.

Tell us more about the urethane. Is that jack pad on this jack padded with urethane or is this something you bought elsewhere to use?

Re: jacking wk2

I use hockey pucks with my jack, works like a charm.

After a few uses they sometimes become cracked or they end up with a permanent ridge in them at which time I just toss it away.
