JGC Altitude 2015 Wheel Locks

Hey guys,

so my car is less about a month old and was broken into this weekend. As much as it sucks I can be thankful that nothing was taken from my car (although I didn't have much to take). However I was not as unfortunate as my neighbor whos car was left on cinderblocks. Now my neighborhood actually is very safe for the most part but having access to our area from some sketchy parts about 20 minutes away makes me a bit nervous.

Being that the Altitude rims are (to some) seen as a bit more appealing to the eyes I don't want my car to be the next target of this.

I wanted to know if anyone had any good recommendations for wheel locks to install on the wheels. Since the wheels are black I would prefer a black set as well. Tried searching and didn't really see anything for a JGC Altitude. If there is a post on this, someone kindly direct me to it and I apologize for wasting anybodys time. Thanks again!

By the way, the agony of your new baby being broken into a month into ownership is a feeling I don't wish on anyone...

I don't know about the wheel locks but I'm curious.. How did they break into it? Did they smash out your window?

Mopar sells wheel locks, but if you want black lugs and locks pick up this set:

looks as if they widged something into the window frame and the window. Glass repair guy said looks like a usual break in (flat head screwdriver wedged in between the frame and the glass since the edge is the glass's weakest point and itll just shatter from there).

Car damage is a bump in the window panel which I am hoping isnt expensive, and minor paint scratches from the glass.

Out of 5 cars (all trucks) that were broken into, only 1 car was robbed of its tires. we all got our windows shattered, some had thousands of dollars worth of valuables in their consoles. Consoles were left open, nothing taken from anyone. Doesn't this sound weird? To target trucks and only take the tires from 1 of these trucks? Could there be something valubale that only a truck has that they were looking for on the interior? Next to me was a porsche and a Benz that were left untouched. All seems pretty weird to me...

Check out locks made by guerrilla (google it) I forgot the exact name. They make solid wheel locks.

It's all good. It happens. Not to turn the thread off topic but I also have these images of the damage done by the break in. Does anyone know if this part of the car is expensive to repair?

Re: JGC Altitude 2015 Wheel Locks

Thanks for the input guys!

I came across these on Amazon. @gvass Are these the same ones as the ones you were talking about? They are a bit cheaper.

Those are the same ones I have been using for a while. Good quality and all nuts are locks.

Thanks, I am assuming you are talking about the Amazon ones?

I also came across this video which shows someone easily taking off Gorilla Wheel locks without the key. Seems rather easy. Has anyone gotten their tires stolen with their Gorilla's on?

Re: JGC Altitude 2015 Wheel Locks

A little scary how quickly he was able to get them off, but the way I feel about it is...if someone really wants your wheels, they're going to get them. You just hope most times it's a bunch of drug addicts that want the fastest and easiest grab and they'll target someone who doesn't have any locks.

Re: JGC Altitude 2015 Wheel Locks

Agreed. I think I will just go with the ones off of Amazon and hopefully they will just deter anyone looking for regular lug nuts
