Nope...not gonna post the details until this thread reaches 10k views.
Just kidding! Pics will come later, but FIRST....the **DISCLAIMER
DONT DO THIS
Seriously you damn copycats, stop. lol.
I did this 4" lift as a test. A limits test, prior to begin working with "someone" to build a full suspension kit. I had always believed that 4-6" would be possible, and daily driveable. I was right. I do believe that at 4" its plenty high, and within tolerance.
It aligned easily all in green.
As pictured in the following post, its sitting at 38.0" ground to fenderlip at all 4 corners with a full tank of gas, my Chief skidplates and nudge bar. it is a v6. Ground clearance at the skids is 13.2". Ground clearance at the frame rails is at 14.0". This is on my 33s. 35s coming soon
The lift consists of the RRO 2.5 spacer kit, stock springs, Bilstein 5100s set to 1.5"front and of course static in the rear, JBA UCAs, & TJ 3/4" spring spacers were added in the rear.
YES, I KNOW that I am compromising ride quality, offroad ability, & suspension travel with this setup. Again, this is TESTING for a complete, all inclusive kit. Goals here were to see how it drove, to see if a perfect level could be achieved, how far safely we could push the CV angle (specifically drivers side front) and to get some overall measurements to begin phase 2.
To put in perspective, the White Rhino build (robthebuilderer) with the custom mopar bags/accuair setup on his Diesel has more overall lift by approx 1-1.2". At his max lift, hes stated theres little to no suspension travel and speeds are obviously to be kept low. Last night he was nice enough to go out and take some measurements of the ride height he typically drives at daily. Our measurements are very very close, achieved in very different ways. With that being said, hes put good miles on his so far. Hes also managed to not break, bind, or trash anything else (including cv) when he it at full lift so we have left some room to spare when it comes to the 4" number. Of course I have full intention of stress testing my setup a bit. I dont wanna break it, but I will if necessary. At this point, the only concern I have is the CVs. All else will be handled by the custom kit as we create it. We will see if I can get RCV to play nice and jump on the wk2project as well.
If this comes to life, it will be a full kit. Control arms (possibly upper & lower), struts, springs, extended links. No spacers. Possible to be an adjustable coilover, but likely not in an effort to be budget conscious while getting the most quality from the rest of the parts. So, if a full kit becomes available that will lift your wk2 safely to 4", increases overall suspension travel and will allow for 34-35"tires....
How intrigued would you be?
What would you pay?
