Has anyone else have any experience with Lionhart tires? After 3 different shops trying to balance them I'm still getting vibration. I have a buddy whom also just installed a set and 3 out the 4 are out of round. I'm being told all 4 of mine have a "hop" to them, but only one is bad. I installed the factory wheel in place of it and that still didn't help with vibration. From what I can find online, they're a cheap knock off Toyo tire built in China, but haven't read where anyone saying they've had vibration issues.
I'm going to get with the shop I bought them from today to see what can be done. At this point I'm tempted to just order a set of Nitto or Toyo's
Knock off tires coming out of China that are spec'd by known tire manufactures are basically hit or miss.
I assumed by now you have balanced and they are still vibrating. The other procedure for balancing is to have them done while the car is on the lift. The problem today, it is hard to find a shop that still does that.
Personally, if you do switch tires, I would go with the Nitto's. The line has many changes that have resulted in major improvements. My father always told me it is worth paying more for better tires.
With off brand tires it is hit or miss for sure and I won't use them on highway driven vehicles, just odds. On Jeeps that we can't zero out we've only had luck with balancing beads, in tires from stock to 37" boggers. It's an old method and works 99.5% of the time. They are fine onroad and I've seen the inside of tires that had them in for 30k+ miles and there was almost nothing noticeable. If you can't get the tire swapped out or don't want to buy a fifth and have a spare, or another wobbly fortune cookie, it's an option and made in the USA.
Wanted to give any of you who may have been following an update. I got the Nitto's mounted this week and on Friday. By far the best $950 spent. I only tested up to 70mph, but no vibration, no road noise nor any feeling of the road like those Lionharts. Would highly recommend the Nitto's to anyone. They ride just as good as the factory 20's or better.
If you are looking for a cheap tire with great aesthetics and decent quality, Lionhart tires are a good low cost tire solution (Lionhart tires — review)
Never cheap out on tires or brakes.......I learned that many years ago both on the road and racing.
FYI - We replaced our stock Michelins (didn't wear very well!!) with Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S plus tires about 12k miles ago. They balanced perfectly from new and also when checked with tire rotations and are wearing evenly and very well. All this with towing our trailer and also driving high speed limits on chip and seal roads.
And they weren't THAT expensive.......4 of them for $955 OTD with damage replacement warranty and lifetime balance/rotation. Currently, they list for $168 each on their website.
