Re: Load Levelling Suspension

If the hitch was dealer installed they didn't replace the stocks I am sure. So you more than likely have the standard suspension with the class IV hitch. Its not like you can't add the shocks though. It would probably be cheaper to buy the Nivomat shocks from a 3rd party.

In that case, once you begin driving the normal undulation of the road enables the shocks to automatically pump themselves up to the normal ride height. This is an excellent, maintenance-free system and the shocks are a very heavy item and have a different part number than stock.
Great info! I was wondering how this worked! Thanks!

Re: Load Levelling Suspension

Am still keen to find out the part number of the self levelling shocks, there should be a sticker on the shock somewhere, on my normal shocks it's down the bottom. I can't find a seller of the Nivomat - jeep equivilant shocks..

Try some other dealers and search for ZF distributors to see if they carry the same shock but without the Chrysler part number labeling. Is that $412 installed each? If you tow a lot or haul a lot of people with gear, the load leveling shocks are fantastic and add tremendously to handling and safety. Needless to say that tires and shocks are the primary difference between staying on road or inspecting a ditch up close.

Re: Load Levelling Suspension

Can't find any referece to the 2011 GC in the http://www.zf.com/corporate/en/produ.../catalogs.html "Shock absorbers for Passenger cars", it only goes up to 4.99 .

I emailed JustforJeeps, they need a VIN from a vehicle with the load leveling shocks, they already have my VIN that doesn't have them. Can someone post their VIN.

Im confused. Arent all Aussie JGCs fitted with a tow package (w/o tow bar) by default? My build sheet shows the car as having self levelling rear suspension (and I didnt ask for it).

Re: Load Levelling Suspension

Mine has got the standard shocks, from what others have described the load levelling are bigger at the top, mine look like regular ones. Check the bottom of this page http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_2012_features.htm to see what our North American friends get when they order the tow haul package. No full size spare, I got 18", now wireing harness, haven't checked the alternator or the heavy duty cooling.

Re: Load Levelling Suspension

I am interested in adding the self leveling rear shocks as well, has anybody found a source for these yet? I would have to imagine they will be available as a replacement when the originals start to wear out.
