Long Term Experience with 275/55/20

Looking for WK2 owners on standard supension (no QL) with no mods who have upsized. Want to see their experience both on and off road postives/negatives with this size. If you have a 2014 I'm especially interested in the event something was slightly changed with space inside the wheel well.

Re: Long Term Experience with 275/55/20

I have had them on 2 wk2's this far. First had RRO leveling kit. No issues, and changed the ride of the vehicle for the better.
I have a 14' now without the leveling kit, will be installed this week, and again the tires have dramatically improved the ride and handling of the vehicle.

That 2014 has 1,000 miles on it. I was about to trade it in as I felt the 2012 I had before just drove and handled so much better. (On road use only)

Now that I have swapped the wheels and tires, I will likely keep this Jeep.

Re: Long Term Experience with 275/55/20

Thanks. I just ordered the RRO kit on Wednesday. It will be installed Monday.

This car needs that kit, transforms the look and doesn't negatively affect the handling.

I just installed my old taillight solutions rear fogs. I also ordered the black "Grand Cherokee","4x4" and "Jeep" emblems.

I was going to trade this car in on Monday as I felt my 2012 was a better riding vehicle. Now that I swapped the tires, I enjoy the car that much better.

Re: Long Term Experience with 275/55/20

I think you've really convinced me to go for the same combo. I'm trying to find the right place to do the lift. The dealer was very expensive. I also have a black 2014, but have the leveling suspension in the back that comes with the hitch. I don't think that will affect doing the front RRO level.

I paid 3 hours of shop labor for the lift install. About $200. That's all it takes, if not less.

Do it. You won't regret it.

Re: Long Term Experience with 275/55/20

Possibly not speaking about the most dramatic negative effect from these bigger tires will be about 2-3 mpg difference, so you should probably take that into account. Lots of money over the course of 3 years owning the vehicle, if you do...

Yep, that sounds like a good deal. Jeep dealer wanted $425. (this after I bought 3 Jeeps from them.

Definitely a negative, but if I feel better driving it, gives me additional clearance and is better off-road and snow I'll take it any day.

VPExhaust how is it on the highway? I do a fair amount of highway driving so want to make sure there isn't a big negative with the level and larger tires? thanks!

Re: Long Term Experience with 275/55/20

The tires likely eat into fuel economy. I drove my jeep about 4 thousand miles per year. I do not notice.
