I'm in the same boat, not there with wheels yet but want to drop the rear...I think I'm just going to get the SRT rear coils, from what I understand this will help "level" it out a bit.
I am lowering mine in the near future and Eibach pro kit works with 2016 GC. It's on eibach website and I'm getting mine from CariD. Carid rep confirmed that the lowering spring will work with stock shocks.
But for older model year it's probably best to switch out the whole spring, shocks assembly to prevent blow outs
I've been using the Eibach pro kit on my 2012 WK2 for about 8 or 9 months and I didn't ever have to change the stock shocks. No hard bouncing or rough ride either. NOW, I wish I'd gone slightly lower but I will probably drop it more later on and THEN I will definitely be putting on some shocks to match.
Anyone have a suggestion for shocks to go with a Black Ops Aggressive lowering kit? This seems like what Ill most likely be going with unless I find something comparable for cheaper later.
Here's #1 of 3 - I'm on my iPhone and can't figure out how to attach more than one pic at a time. This is more recent (maybe 9-10 months after installed). Ride is still great and there's NOT a need for new shocks just yet.
Yeah it does level it out. I'd still like about another inch or 1.5" lower but I'll probably do that in another year or two. I have a few other things in mind before that.
Someone mentioned blistein shocks for lowering with the black ops springs - which model are these? Most of the ones I'd seen from blistein were lift kit shocks.
Thanks!
I would have to think they are the 4600 series...from what I have read they do raise the height slightly but will drastically improve the ride. Be careful going too low with your drop, you'll end up running into issues with camber and toe alignment.
By 'ribs he' he means Eibach Pro Kit. I just spelled it wrong and that's what it auto corrected to lol. Thanks for the info though! Did you notice a difference in ride quality?
I don't think the shocks/struts NEED to be replaced, but it may not be a bad idea to help the comfort level of the ride. The sway bar is the same situation, not necessary but will provide a pretty noticeable improvement.
Has anyone picked up the Mopar lowering springs? I was on the phone with BWoody and they recommended them over the Eibachs....even with having a nonSRT. I'm just a little concerned about how much lower the drop is....1.6F, 2.0R.....versus Eibach 0.7F, 1.3R.
Right. According to BWoody, the SRT suspension components will fit the nonSRT. Any idea on how I could get a gauge of how much lower the Jeep will sit? Like a tape measure or something? Sorry I'm just not familiar with lowering Jeeps. I've only lifted them lol.
Curious what the drop will be on the Mopar kit....I've heard some say it's just an Eibach kit relabeled as Mopar, but haven't seen anything referencing the drop to expect.
So who's going to be the guinea pig and order this for their GC? I am really interested to see the results, so I may pull the trigger on it soon...we'll see.
I'm just about to....i just wish I had the wheels to complete the look. I'm sitting in powdercoated 18s but plan to get 20" Spider Monkey's.
Depending on what you decide, I recommend ordering directly through BWoody Sales. I called yesterday and they were very helpful in choosing exactly what I needed.
Good deal, thank you for the heads up. If/when I do this, I'll more than likely be replacing my shocks and struts with 4600's at the same time. I too have the stock 18" wheels so it won't look anywhere near as good as it could, but I'm extremely picky with wheels so I want to get the right setup....not a fan of the SRT rep's so I'm still searching. For now I was just going to buy black lug nuts and black center caps to accent the wheels a bit and tie it in to my black paint.
I agree with you. I will most likely wait to install everything everything until spring so I can get wheels/tires too. Gotta get ready for show season! I ended up getting Gorilla Lugs on Amazon. They are pretty good. Just gotta be careful what you use to take them off otherwise they scratch.
Depending on your price preference, I would look at the Velgen wheels sold by Solis. They are beautiful. Pricey but worth it lol. Same with MRR wheels. I made the mistake of getting in to Instagram and following fellow Jeep guys. Like this site, HUGE mistake lol.
Both are very nice. I love the way Bronze wheels look with the Black color but I just don't know if I would get tired of the color and want to change. Black on black never gets old lol.
See, I'm the opposite...I used to love the black on black look (or "murdered" as some call it), but it's grown old in my eyes since everyone and their brother does this now.
Grey, bronze, or a black wheel with a machined face are my go-to now on a black vehicle.
