Re: LTX M/S2 275/55R20 with Quadra Lift

Hmmmm... Kind of frustrating, not gunna lie... What are the odds of there being a work around with a tuner in the future?

That's strange because my dealer service dept told me they can re calibrate the speedo. Just to bring it in.

By all means you can try, but others have gone to a dealer only to be told there is no way.

Re: LTX M/S2 275/55R20 with Quadra Lift

I put LTX M/S2 275/55R20's on my 2014 V6 Overland earlier this week - Am I the first one to do this on the 2014???

Running great so far. After very early break-in, they are smoother, and more surefooted than the Forteras, and I love the way they look. Downdside, I suspect i'm seeing a 2-3mpg hit in city driving. I don't think hwy is affected, based on a few quick test runs. Speedo is 5% off as expected. 63mph actual at 60 gauge. I think I can live with this, given then I care more about mpg on 800 mile road trips than the 3 miles round trip to work.

Oh, and wet performance is awesome. Tried to lock them up in wet weather the other night, ~ 30mph, and they didn't want to slide, nor induce abs. Impressed, relative to how i'd expect my other vehicles to behave.

Greetings,

Congratulations on the 2014.

It hard to say about the MPG at this time. I would wait until JGC breaks in with summer blend of gas. Over the last couple of years, I have notice and others that I talked too, confirm that the winter blend of gas gives you mixed results. Either you loose the 2-3 as you said, or less.

Best for now.

Here are a few. Tried to find better way to get photos to show directly, vs attachments. Do I need to have them stored somewhere, and linked?

Looks great. They are not the most aggressive looking tire, but they do the job amazingly well.

I have had them on my '07 Tahoe for about 60,000 miles and they are still doing great. No problems in snow or beach driving.

Re: LTX M/S2 275/55R20 with Quadra Lift

Sorry I am late, but I had to respond. You are not really losing 2-3 mpg - probably more like a fraction of 1 mpg. The larger rolling circumference means that your wheels turn fewer revolutions each mile. The speedometer and odometer read wheel revolutions from the same sensor, so they are both inaccurate now. You are traveling slightly further than you odometer indicates, which has your trip computer fooled.

Re: LTX M/S2 275/55R20 with Quadra Lift

good point. i calculated the old fashioned way and also via fuelly... it was indeed about a 1-2 mpg drop.

not enough data to really get a good running average. but sure, i'd say to put a really good estimate on it, we can agree that it is a flat 1mpg drop.

Re: LTX M/S2 275/55R20 with Quadra Lift

I have these same tires along with an RRO leveling kit.

A local mechanic did the installation for me. According to my iPhone app, Motion X GPS Drive, and someone I requested to drive parallel to me at 20, 40, and 60mph, he somehow has my speedometer calibrated correctly.

Re: LTX M/S2 275/55R20 with Quadra Lift

Has anyone installed these without Quadra Lift? My wife has a Limited W/O Quadra lift; I wouldn't think it would matter but just curious.

If everyone hasn't had much of a problem in park mode then running in normal height (Without Quadra lift) shouldn't matter?
