I am looking for opinions on the Michelin Latitude HP... I can get a set mounted , balanced and old tires dispossed of for 680.00.. If anyone has experience with them the good the bad and the ugly. I drive a 2011 Overland with the quadra lift. Looking to get 285/50-20 installed.. thanks

Re: Michelin

Had a 20" set on a Murano. Great tire for the road, rain, an snow. Quiet too. No issues. Not an off-road tire at all.

Well, they ARE round.
And black, mostly.
And they have tread on them, unless overly worn out.
And they are tires...

The 18 inch variety is the OEM tire on the off-road package, with a goodly number of reviews and comments here, some even mentionable in polite company, but don't recall a single positive one other than that they are round and black.

Other than that, let's just be charitable and note that Michelin makes far better tires--pretty much any other Michelin will do better for wet/dry traction. Don't recall if the M+S/2 goes that large--it is on the other end of the Michelin SUV tire offerings if available in your size.

If the dealer sells Conti, also check out the Extreme...

Hi Wedge: They came standard (18 inch) on my Limited and dry road, wet roads, towing my boat, ramps etc. they are ok. When last winter arrived I found out they were TERRIBLE in snow, had to get Hankooks. I am running them now that winter is over but when they need to be re-placed I will get something different. The LT ms2's are great, had them before and there are other good choices out there, do some searching on here, subject comes up a lot! Good Luck, Dave

Re: Michelin

*edit (need to read more carefully )

I'd personally look for something cheaper than the Latitudes.

I've liked the looks of the Falken Ziex S/TZ05 and Hankook Ventus ST RH06, which would probably perform as equal to or better than the Latitudes.

Agreed. My Lats are garbage. Even with regular rotations they are down to the wear bars at 30k miles. Will be replaced very soon with Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventures.
