Michelin Latitude Tour

My Jeep came with the Michelin Latitude Tour tires. I'm wondering how they are holding up for everyone that has some mileage on them? They are rated for 65000 miles but I don't see that happening.

If it does, you would probably be up for an award for the world's most gentle driver.

I took a non-repairable screw in shoulder/sidewall boundary at about 22K miles, and was not overly whelmed with the remaining tread left.

Other than that, generally they suck In My Non-Humble Opinion. Hard to believe they are from the same company that produces the M+S/2 that WILL last that long and has far better traction in pretty much all wet, cold, dry weather conditions.

Re: Michelin Latitude Tour

All of the various threads I've read (and participated in) on OEM supplied tires seem to have some folks who are getting very low miles, some folks who are getting high mileage and the bell-curve portion in the middle being, well...in the middle, but acceptable. This applies to the Michelins and the Goodyear Forteras relative to JGC. The latter performed well for me and I only changed them out at 40K miles because I had planned to do so before winter anyway and we were leaving on a 3000 mile family vacation trip. They still had 6/32" left which was quite respectable. There are similar stories about the Michelins, too... nature of the beast.

That all said, there are certainly a number of other, very worthy choices for replacements that will target how you use your vehicle and what you expect of your tires. Lots of discussion about that in the Suspension/Driveline/Brakes/Wheels/Tires area up above...

Does anyone know if they are planning to make the Michelin LTX M/S II in the 20 inch rim size to fit the Overland? My husband put them on his pickup and just loves them. I swear the Forterras made it feel like I was driving on ice all winter. I damn near rolled it because I couldn't get control on a thin coating of snow. You get a lot of floating around on the road with those Forterras. I love them in the summer though just not the winter.

Email michelin and ask them about the LTX M/S II in 20s. When i did they said they have had a lot of people asking and they would pass the suggestion to marketing, so the more they hear the request the better.

There is a Conti in 20 inch that is supposed to be pretty good... but only Michelin would know if they plan to produce the LTX M/S or A/T in that size.

26K and going to be replaced before the first snowfall.
The high end Michelins are nice, but these are junk in my humble opinion.
