That was for my last car. I knew when I signed up for 20's tires we're going to be pricey.

'Depends on what tire you buy, where you buy and what incentives/promotions are available at the time. There are $140 tires (Fortera ) and there are $350 tires...and a bunch in-between around the $200 mark. Before promotions. When I bought my Pirelli Scorpion Verde Plus tires a couple months ago from Discount Tire Direct, they were priced at about $195 each with free shipping. And then there was a $60 rebate from Pirelli and a $100 rebate from DTD. Install was $25 each by my local, independent mechanic, so that washed the second rebate. I honestly was happy with that price and love the tires.

I paid $1100 for the Defenders on the stock 20s. Plus another $100 for a good road force balance which i recomend, they were smooth first time out the door. Mopar will sometimes run buy 3 get 1 free at the dealers but they wernt running that when i bought few weeks ago.

Jim just reminded me about the rebates i forgot to include. So mine were actually $1130 OTD including the road force with the Michelin $70 rebate

Yup, on my mopar.com site where I check my jeep status they have a buy 3 get the 4th for 1$ coupon until the 31st of Oct. Not sure what tire, the OEM on my Jeep is the Pirelli Scorpion.

Actually I was referring to Peabody and Sherman from Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, not Back to the Future. I'm sure it's just a generational thing. Now I'm more depressed.

Greetings,

Totally agree on the deference on the 2 Rich's.

For others looking into this tire:

The Premiers are intended for a road touring tire. It is more for somebody that it is used to a sedan ride on the highway or coming from another type of CUV. The big advantage to the Premiers is the tire compound and siping which is design for the wet conditions including the winter for additional traction.

Because of the tread depth in the snow, it is not advisable to drive in no more than 2 or 3 inches of fresh snow. On fresh packed snow, it should have no problem. The tread depth starts to become a factor. Also regarding tread depth, with the weight of the JGC, depending on the road surfaces you face, the tire wear might be shorter than advertised.

Best for now.

Re: MICHELIN Premier LTX

Hi guys, thanks to the JeepGarage , I bought my 1st overland 4 years ago , in 2012 . And now looking for new tires . I drive long distances on HWY , also need it to be good on rain and snow ( since I ldrive a lot to the mountains) and be able to do light off road . Looks like I narrowed it down to Michellin defender, Pirelli scorpion all season Plus, Yokohama and Bridgestone dueler. I am getting different recommendations from Discount tire and jeep dealership . Would appreciate any advise . Thank you , Cleopatra

Defenders are good choice for the needs you described. Also check out Goodyear adventure at
