Mod-free upgrade of wheels and tires

I have a 2012 Jeep GC Cherokee that I am looking to replace the wheels on. I want to get black wheels, and since I am changing them out, I am looking to go with a little bigger tire. I have the QL, what is the maximum wheel/tire combo I can go with without ever worrying about any rubbing, spacers, or modifications at any of the lift heights?

Thanks for your time.

Re: Mod-free upgrade of wheels and tires

32" diameter is about the max you want to go for your tire diameter regardless of whether you use 18" or 20" or 22" wheels.

Do note that if you upsize your tires, your odo and speedo are not going to be accurate and they cannot be adjusted.

Hi Jim, are you sure the speedo can't be adjusted? My service dept said they can change the tire size in the computer to another larger choice - there aren't too many choices they said but they should be able to get it closer? I haven't tried it so Im only relaying what I heard.

They cannot change the tire size in the computer for the JGC. They are either mistaken or they are thinking about other platforms. This has been discussed many times here. Jeep only put one entry in the table...the OEM size which is 30.6", give or take.

Re: Mod-free upgrade of wheels and tires

So I am looking to go with these:

Jeep Grand Cherokee Style Replica Wheels Black 20x9 SET

Black, simple, and reasonably priced.

What is the largest tire I can run without any mods?

Any other thoughts?

Re: Mod-free upgrade of wheels and tires

I have 2013 JGC and QL, we put on BF Goodrich 275/55r20 AT TA K02's, no rub any height, this is largest I think you can run.

Re: Mod-free upgrade of wheels and tires

Depends also on the offset, if it std then as above 275/55/20 works. If the off set is less ie like the SRT wheels then u may get 295/45/20 on?

Re: Mod-free upgrade of wheels and tires

Do you guys think with less offset you could get larger diameter tire than 275/55/20 (31.91")

Re: Mod-free upgrade of wheels and tires

I would have to search but I think some guys are running a 285/55/20 but u would be to do some modding to inner guards...

So Grizzley's (31.80" tall 11.2" wide) BF Goodrich 275/55r20 AT TA K02's is the limits for a GC with QL without modding?
