Re: Mounted the new Michelin LTX M/S2

Raining like hell here all day, my wife says they feel much better than the Lattitudes. They had gotten pretty squirrely in the rain.

Yeah I like the letters out on an SUV. I actually had OWL Lattitudes too...

When it comes time to replace my Latitudes these are a definite possibility.
Watch out when you buy, the M+S comes both as a pure blackwall and as BSW with white letters. Some places even charge differently.

Most Discount Tire shops have the M+S in stock--they are pretty popular with SUVs that don't need hardcore off road tires.

Are you sure? All the LTX M/S2 I saw were OWL. The Latitudes come in both, and the OWL are significantly more. But even TireRack only lists the M/S2 in OWL. I must have priced them 10 places...

Yup. Am sure. Comes both ways. Had a set of them, the 4th successive set that included the M+S plus M+S/2

But don't just take my word for it, look up the pics on Michelin

Re: Mounted the new Michelin LTX M/S2

It looks like it depends on the size:

LTX M/S2 | Michelin Tires

Most sizes come in OWL, but a few come in BSW. According to that chart in the Jeep's size (P265/60R18) they only come in OWL, you have to go to P265/65R18s to get BSW.

Re: Mounted the new Michelin LTX M/S2

They did great out in the mess around the DC area today. Didn't put a ton of miles on them but we ventured out for lunch, 2 inches or so on the roads, just enough to be really nasty. Nice improvement in grip from the OEM tires.

Re: Mounted the new Michelin LTX M/S2

Got a set of LTX M/S2s on my 2014 GC Limited this week and am really happy with them. I set the pressure to 35psi, which seems to be the sweet spot. The Latitudes were just a bit "squishy" for me, the M/S2s make me feel more connected to the road. If you really want a car-like ride, keep the Latitudes or buy a Buick, but I got my Jeep because I wanted a Jeep and the M/S2s seem like the perfect tire for it.

Re: Mounted the new Michelin LTX M/S2

Has anybody ever talked to Mark (Texas Group Buy) about doing a trade-out for MS/2s at delivery time?

Did he work a deal?
