Re: My 2012 GC Laredo X with Saharah Wheels and Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor Tires

wheels look great, but that is too close for my comfort.

what about heat dissipation or when you really stress the wheels while driving and risk hitting the sides?

All you really need is the thickness of a business card, or so I am told.

The owner of Forgeline Wheels is an acquaintance of mine and confirmed this.

I don't think there is any heat issue because there isn't any real confinement.

If I am stressing the wheels so much they actually flex...I have more to worry about then just my wheels. I believe that they don't flex...they actually bend and stay bent. I don't plan on doing anything that will stress them that much. 95% city driving.

So far, so good. No problems. Lugs are correctly torqued (had to be re-torqued after 50 miles like they all do).

How's the ride on the new tires? Quiet/comfortable/mpg stay the same?

I have found that typically, you cannot to go from a mild all-season tire to a more aggressive tire without giving up something.

Compared to stock...

Quieter? For an aggressive tire...the noise level is maybe...2%-3% more? Maybe? You hear a bit more road noise but you really have to pay attention. Most people would never notice. I have heard that the more miles you put on them, the louder they get but I haven't had them that long to find out. They have great reviews.

Comfortable? Overall, they are fine. When rolling to a stop you can barely feel the lugs. Again, most people wouldn't even notice...it is very minimal.

MPG seems to have dropped but not much. Maybe .5mpg but I may also be driving more aggressively now that I am getting comfy with the new Jeep.

The factory tires are stunningly quiet and I am sure they were picked by Jeep for optimal mileage and comfort. I am willing to sacrifice some of that.
