Okay, so just regular black dip, not smoke on the lens? If so, you won't be able to see any light emitting from them.

Johndplm-

Great work so far -- hat's off to plasti-dipping the chrome plastic inserts in the front grill . . . that must have been a bitch! BTW, did you have to cut your T-Rex Sport Grill a bit, or was it a perfect fit? I had to mod mine a bit because it didn't fit clean.

I have been going back and forth over whether to dip the back-up lights for awhile now -- nice to see you did it. Unless you are backing up at night into a parking spot, I really don't see the need not to black them out. That clear plastic panel really sticks out. Do you think the tails (red) would still show through with a modest plasti-dip application?

Actually plastic dipping the front grill was extremely easy! Masking the car off sucked but other than that it was really easy. Spray and pull...

My T-Rex grill was tough to install initially then I flipped it over and it fit like a glove...

Fun little build, I'm used to building wranglers and replacing everything and I mean everything. So this has been easy...

You will not be able to see the rear red lights through the plasti-dip, no way.

Next up will be to add some color

Love the look John, really wish brands like Niche, and Dub would make a gloss black finish. they Don't seem to do that anymore. I have a white Altitude and that shade just doesn't look right on white. Do your rims bow out at all from the drop?

Ummm no my rims do not bow out at all.

Why don't you buy a set of these and have the outter wheel powder coated white and leave the inner wheel black? White on white, would look awesome!

Re: My 2014 Jeep GC Build

I've thought about it, just hate that I have to buy something then put more money into it. Every time I find a rim I like it turns out they don't have a bolt pattern for the jeep. Not many options out there.

Ok so i'm thinking about 305/35/22 tires. I wonder if those would fit.

Street -- I'm having the same problem with my white altitude... No rims come in black that I really like except so far the ones I do like for us with white are the XO Tokyo, XO Caracas, and XO Miami which all do come in satin black at least!

These niche wheels are awesome but I wish they made them all black I don't like powder coating cause then if you have to replace one for some reason you have to get the new one powder coated again and its a never ending cycle. What other wheels are you looking at?

John -- Where does the rubbing occur on the front or rear fenders? or inside toward the spring/damper/control arms?? do you see where it is rubbing? when it does happen for you over the large bumps/potholes? Do you have the v6 and have you noticed a loss in MPG with the larger wheels/tires? On my X5 when I went to 22's with 295's in front and 335's in the rear i lost about 3 mpg lol.
