I do like the BFG's but I'd rather not haul around the extra weight of those tires if I don't have too. Not that I'll be drag racing the Jeep but I still don't want to add any more unsprung weight than I absolutely have too.

That is a fine line to walk, and a hard combo to find. The best I've found to meet both of those requirements in one tire (and I've tried A LOT of M/T and A/T tires over the years), are the BFG KO'2, and Goodyear Duratrac.

Well then I think I have the tires for you. For a point of reference the stock Overland 20" rims, with 255/60/20 Goodyear Fortera tires (IIRC stock tire), weighs 64 pounds. I weighed them when I took them off to put 18's back on the Jeep.

The combo I have now OEM Sahara 18's, with 255/70/18 BFG KO2 weigh 77 pounds. That's 13 pounds heavier than stock 20's. So how is that good news? Well, because the Duratrac that I previously mentioned are lighter than the KO2's. I had them my Ram, and they were every bit as capable as the KO2, and nearly as quiet on the road. The main difference though is in a 255/70/18, the Duratrac is 10 pounds lighter than the KO2. They're not as thick in the side wall, so they won't handle scrubbing rocks, or beaver sticks as well, but if you're not doing any heavy off-roading it shouldn't be an issue. The lighter weight means the Duratrac, in the same size, will be 67 pounds on the Sahara rims. That's only 3 pounds heavier than the 64 lbs stock 20's.
Obviously if you are able to find a lighter set of rims than the OEM rims, you could have a set equal weight or even lighter than stock.
FWIW, the Saraha rim without the tire is 26 pounds.

Re: Need some new tire advice & help

Thanks for all the help. I finally pulled the trigger on some Toyo open country AT2's.
I think these will work well for what I need. (275/55 R20)

Now I can move on with my life.

OEM tires for 20" rims are 265/50/20 at ~30.6" diameter.

Oops, yeah sorry about that. I transposed some numbers. Good catch.

Lmao. Sensitive much? You seem to be full of opinions. Take someone else's without jumping down their throat.

I'm not even saying anything bad. I was asking a question. A lot of what you said you didn't want is complained about in reviews that's all I'm saying....

It's all good though. Wasn't trying to start a fight lol

When you come on here asking if I "read the reviews" when clearly I stated before that's all I've been doing....you clearly had an agenda.

I saw your opion on the BFG's and I said they were to heavy.....sorry to hurt your feelings.

I dont know what reviews you were reading or what you thought I wanted but these should be the perfect tire for me. I wanted an aggressive looking, light weight, quiet all terrain tire with good road manners. That's what these are and every review I've read has confirmed that.

Now I really won't know for sure until I mount them and try them out. So time will tell.
