New rims and tires

Here are some pics of my new setup. Rims are KMC XD Bombs 18x9 30 offset. Tires are 285/65R18 Nitto Trail Grapplers. Basically 31" tires!! They rubbed a decent amount, but I trimmed the fender a bit and am having the 2.5" rocky road lift installed soon so that should help. I only have the leveling kit and 1" BORA spacers currently.

Re: New rims and tires

Greetings,

Now, that is what I call nice rims. I must say the rims does the tire justice.
Like to see the leveling kit when you are finished.

Best for now.

Re: New rims and tires

Nice wheels.... they are actually just under 33 inch inch tires. Any reason why you would put on spacers? With the +30 offset the wheels will already be sticking out over a inch more than stock.

Re: New rims and tires

I had the spacers on before with my stock wheels. Then they were stolen...I like the look though. Very aggressive. It will also look better when I get the 2.5" lift installed. The spacers also help give a little more clearance from tires and control arm. I have very big tires.

Re: New rims and tires

Just give it a shot without the spacers, you may actually have less rubbing without them. Those wheels with the 285's will clear the control arm no problem. Without the spacers, your tires should fit just about flush with the fenders.

Re: New rims and tires

Wow.
I would be worried about the "Revenue Enforcement Officers" around here giving you a ticket for the tires sticking out past the fenders.

But damn that looks good!

This is Texas, every truck has huge tires that stick out past fenders.

Re: New rims and tires

And in my original thread I stated tires are basically 31"s...they're not...they're 33"s...typo. Big ole tires.

I know this affected your gas mileage but how bad? What motor do you have?
