So if I understand correctly. If your storing vertically(on treads) then tires should be kept inflated. The 1st pic that shows the tires stored vertically and has a line going thru it is referring to deflated.

Thanks I better store them upright... I have read that you should put them in black plastic bags so the oils don't try out. I don't know if that's necessary or not. They will be store in a garage that is not heated in Vermont until around April/May...lol long winters in VT...

If they are on the wheels and inflated, they can be stacked. If they are unmounted or not inflated they should be stored vertically (on the tread)

For that short of a storage term, I wouldn't worry that much. I just use a tarp to keep the sunlight off them and give them a 1/4 spin every so often to keep them from flat spotting.
FWIW, I am storing non-DOT slick race tires. Much more care is needed for these so what I recommend is probably overkill for street tires.
