Nokian Tires opinions

Greetings,
Does anyone have any long term opinions on the Nokian WRG3 SUV tires. They seem to be too good to be true with great winter performance and you don't have to take them off in the summer. I don't doubt the winter ability, but I'm wondering about warm weather road noise, handling and wear. I've got a 2014 WK2 with 265 60 18's. I appreciate any first hand information.
Thanks

Re: Nokian Tires opinions

Let's just say that if Nokian made underwear, I'd wear it.
I feel they are quiet and the perfect tire for me. I have similar WR G2's on our 2012 Subaru. Member "1stJeepGC" drove my Jeep last month and was surprised by how quiet they are on pavement.

I've put 36K miles on them with 2 winters and 2 summers. They are wearing great at about 9/32" left. I will buy another set when they wear out. I do have the 20s since I have a Summit.

Re: Nokian Tires opinions

Thanks, that's helpful! what is your opinion of the warm weather road noise? I've heard that directional tires by their nature are noisier and get worse with wear.

I haven't noticed any difference in road noise with wear. I rotate every 6K miles and haven't noticed a difference in seasonal wear.

Re: Nokian Tires opinions

I do hear them on our Subaru, but the Grand Cherokee has much more soundproofing than a Subaru.

Re: Nokian Tires opinions

Have had these tires on my 2011 overland for 18 months now. They are the very best tires money can buy! Excellent road grip in any weather and they are extremely quiet. I will only buy this brand of tire from now on for any vehicle I purchase.

Re: Nokian Tires opinions

Love our WR G3's. Excellent winter performance up here on the mountain and no noticeable noise at all. Love that they have the same tread wear rating as the Latitudes.

Re: Nokian Tires opinions

I put a set of these Nokians on my 2105 JGC, about 10 days after I bought it. I strongly believe in dedicated snow tires, BUT I'm getting too old for swapping out wheels/tires twice a year, ESPECIALLY dragging them up and down the basement stairs.

Having said that, my opinion, after 2600 miles is this.....thet ARE a tad loud, due to their open tread design. My only complaint regarding handling, is when I hit an extended stretch of "water grooved" concrete, on the NY State Thruway, they were a little "squirmy".

However, since I bought this Jeep to be primarily a winter driver, I'm looking forward to see how they do in the winter. My sources tell me they're quite good.

Re: Nokian Tires opinions

Had 15,000 mile rotation this week. All is well in Nokian land.

I also would like to know how they go in the hot weather, depending on whic website you look at there are different All Weather tyres, WRG3 and now a All Weather that does not come in a 20inch.
