Noob question - how big of wheel / tire can I put on my WK2?

Okay, so being totally new to the world of 4x4s and SUVs with my WK2 - I am wondering - how big of wheels / tires can I put on my WK2 Limited without needing to be concerned about clearance, turn radius, etc.?

Survey says....~32" total diameter is about the limit with some minor variability based on the design of the tire where the tread meets the sidewall. OEM is ~30.6".

What you do need to understand is that if you upsize your tires and your Jeep is 4x4, you need to also upsize your spare accordingly. Additionally, there's no way to adjust the speedo and odo easily in the computer to insure they are accurate. Your dealer cannot do this, either...there is only one selection in the computer/firmware and it's the OEM size. Rumor has it that you can buy the Diablo tuner and make the adjustment, but that's not an inexpensive solution.

Wheel size generally ranges from 18" to 22". Remember, it's the tire diameter that matters for clearance, not the wheel size with the exception of brake clearance. HD brakes need at least 18" wheels. Non-HD brakes can take 17" wheels generally.

Thank you VERY much Jim!!! That helps tremendously. Clearly I have a LOT to learn, but I'm eager to do it!
