OEM 2015 Altitude Wheels on 2016 Limited TPMS ISSUE

I bought a used set of 2015 altitude wheels and tires for my 16 limited. The TPMS warning light is always on. Is there a way to reset or re program them?

I believe the TPMS sensor frequency changed at some point during the different model years

Found the thread - 2016 TPMS sensors not compatible in 2015 and earlier?

Otherwise, they should reset automatically after 20 minutes or so of driving

Frequencies are still the same, but 2016 pressure systems are not compatible with earlier models. I know from extensive experience on the subject.
If it helps you out I have a set of new takeoff 2016 sensors from a 9 mile 2016. I'll sell them cheap, but you have to buy replacement stems as the newer sensors stems are not reusable once removed (apparently). Luckily new oem stems are available on eBay for 8 bucks shipped for all four, or tire stores might actually stock them. New stems just clip in place. I'll do $30 shipped on them. PM me if you're interested or text at 847-769-7307 and I can send pics as well.

I just picked up a set of the 2015 Limited 18" wheels with caps and sensors for my winter set. I was thinking I was all ready to go until I saw this post. So, my 2016 Limited isn't going to "see" the sensors then huh?

What's the drawback to just going without sensors for the winter tires? Does it change what "the computer" does for traction control or anything? If it's just a light on the dash I might just say eff it.

Also, thinking of going Michelin X-Ice Xi2 tires instead of the Blizzaks. Thoughts? Experiences?

You certainly don't have to have sensors. I won't hurt anything or change anything about how the vehicle drives. You'll simply have to clear the warning message every drive and there will be a small yellow indicator on your dash on at all times. I have a set of four new 2016 sensors for cheap if you're interested. See my for sale add in the for sale section if you're interested.

Shouldn't change anything.

Over the weekend one of the TPMS sensors worked and showed up on the dash for one trip. I was shocked it was the first time i seen it and had these wheels on the truck for over 4,000 mniles
