Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

Jeep just called and did a customer satisfaction survey. So I politely explained my issue with the tires supplied for the ORA II package. They had someone else call - I politely explained it again. The individual involved thanked me for my feedback and wished me a nice day.

Who knows if it will make any difference? At least there's one more complaint in a file somewhere ...

As for me - I'm loving my Summit and the LTX AT/2 tires are just perfect for me. So, like others on this thread, I've just written off the added cost as a "price to play".

Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

Well I have now done 10000 miles on my tours so i can not longer look for a trade of any sort. I am out working at WSMR in New Mexico and some of the guys are driving the new 2011 Durangos (Crew and Citadel) and it was funny to see that they all have the 18" tours on them.

After the 10k miles I am starting to see some major wear on the tires and I have had them rotated twice now to even it all out. I am driving most of the time on dirt and/or gravel roads. The tires are not holding up to well under these conditions. I will be replacing them in Jan if they make it that far.

Even if they would have put the LTX A/T2 on which are almost the same price in most places, they are rated much higher for off road but less for comfort.

LOL at the LTX ATs having a 10 for offroad capability. Maybe compared to Michelin's other tires which have zero offroad capabilities.

When I pay for the ORAII Package, I am buying the tire I want for my specific application. I really don't understand anyone who thinks that those who pay for the ORAII Package should accept all season tires when they paid for on/off road tires.

Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

Incidentally, Tire Rack sells a set of Latitude Tour tires with OWL for $820 and a set of LTX A/T 2 tires with OWL for $868.

Come on, Jeep! Put the right tires on already!

Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

If one read the words "Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires", what could it mean? Well, when I read the word, Off-Road, I define it as a road not made out of asphalt and concrete. Taking the word Adventure, means taking the 2011/12 Jeep Grand Cherokee to go boldly where a regular SUV would have trouble, to defeat the snow and to part waves with the rain. So now I do the math, Off-Road + Adventure = A tire that has the capabilities of On/Off Road Terrain Tire.

We do not need an overly aggressive All-Terrian Tire, that in itself has a special category within tires.

As a consumer, did we get that tire with our upgraded package Chrysler/Jeep/Fait ?

So far, this is my only complaint about the Grand Cherokee.

Best for now.

Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

Take it off road and when it fails take a video of it and submit a warranty claim to Chrysler through your dealer for new tires that will handle what Jeep claims they will.
