I did yesterday. The dealer would not even buy me a coke...

Has anyone had any luck talking with Jeep about their choice of tires yet?

Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

Got my Goodyear Silent Armors installed on Thursday. Sold my Latitudes the same day so with that and the $160 Goodyear rebate it worked out pretty well for me.

Of course my dealer never called be back after I complained about the tires that came with the off road option.

The Goodyears are a bit noisier but not bad at all. Now I just have to wait until June for my trip out to Utah.

Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

As I recall, the sales brochure listed the tires for the package as being Touring, and not an A/T tread. For those looking for a less expensive, but competent tire, the Firestone Destination A/Ts have worked well for me, at about $50 less per tire than the Revos or the Michelins.

Well, my INVOICE and WINDOW STICKER both say "P265/60R 18 BSW ON/OFF-ROAD TIRES". The latitudes do great in the rain but it isn't what was supposed to be on the jeep as Michelin calls it an all season tire.

Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

Yup, there is no question that the off-road package states OFF road tires - what comes with them are certainly NOT off road tires - it is simple fraud and anyone who puts up with it is just enabling Jeep to continue to screw its customers. Kind of like going to a restaurant and ordering a t-bone steak and they bring you a cheeseburger - and you just sit there and eat it, pay for it, and not say a word. As long as we continue to close our eyes and bend over and let Jeep screw us, they will continue to do so - why would they want to correct this fraud if they continue to get away with it?

Oops, was that my outside voice?

I'm not saying you are wrong, but Jeep's website does list "On/Off Road Tires" for ALL Grand Cherokees.. not just ones with the ORA pkgs.

Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

On the window sticker that I see it says "all season tires" and certainly not off-road tires - those are listed on the off-road adventure package that costs $275 (I'm looking at an Overland sticker).

Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

I just wished i would have pushed it with my dealer at purchase time.
Even on the standard equipment list for the laredo x calls for off-road tires.
I dont know why an Overland would list all-season but I believe you.

Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

The standard wheel/tires for the Overlands are 20" so I guess that makes a difference.

I've got a Larado sitting in the driveway (dealer loaner until my Overland arrives) and I just pulled out the sticker - and it does say "on/off road" tires are standard. I guess that means that Jeep is serving up a lot of cheeseburgers and collecting for t-bone steak, ha, ha!

Why not a class action lawsuit? It's been done many times before for issues like this. I recently got $365 from Continental for the poor tread life on the self sealing tires that came with my 2007 Magnum R/T AWD. This was the settlement from someone else filing a class action.

Re: Off-Road Adventure II Package Tires

Quick update: still working this with my dealer, who seems to be trying to be helpful in going to Chrysler. Clearly the dealer is not going to shoulder the burden of this cost himself, and I don't really blame him for that.

For those unsure about what Jeep is marketing, try "building" a vehicle with the online configurator at the Jeep website. Here is what I see when I add a combination requiring the ORA-II package on an Overland:

Michelin Brand Tires
P265/60R18 OWL On/Off Road Tires

My window sticker says All-season tires under "Standard Equipment" but shows the On/Off Road Tires under the Optional Equipment section beneath the ORA II Package heading.
