Re: QL Normal Ride Height vs Non-QL

I would measure at the top of the front and rear fender wells. I would ensure you stay centered on the wheel so the tape measure drops straight down through the outside of the hubs on the wheels. Ground clearance is irrelevant as that can change with different size tires and depends where you measure under the vehicle. Ride height has to do with the body height...at least thats how I see it.

Re: QL Normal Ride Height vs Non-QL

Well, a non-precision measurement, but:

I rented a non-QL 4WD Limited in December in California. Wife reports that Limited was WAY lower than my QL Overland in NRH, based on climbing in and out.

I do not argue with her.

You lost me on WAY lower.

EDIT: It appears from Jeeps own information ground clearance on a NON-QL 2014 GC clearance is 8.6" and on a QL at normal ride height is 8.1"

Re: QL Normal Ride Height vs Non-QL

I strongly suspect in a non-scientific way that the "normal" ride height for both QL and non-QL JGC is close enough to not be "different".

Re: QL Normal Ride Height vs Non-QL

Hm, maybe something is wrong with my QL..

Just ordered the FSM, so hopefully I'll be able to check it.

It wouldn't matter as long as you take it in the same place on a non-QL and a QL model.

Watch out, the QL models will adjust their height a bit after a shutoff, so keep your fingers out of pinch places, and measure quick.

As for the Jeep video on offroad mode, the manual was written by an engineer, but obviously the video was made and narrated by Spinal Tap
