Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

terryH, do know that they don't use "regular air" in the QL system...it's a closed system and, I believe, uses nitrogen...

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Yeah it's a strange setup. If you fold your rear seat down and pop up the panel between the seat and the rear tire storage you'll find a tank. It has a fitting on the drivers side for recharging it but I couldn't find a fitting that would match up. They say the system has up to 220psi but the dealer fills it up to 175psi of medical grade nitrogen using a special coupler and regulator so I don't know how it gets up to 220psi. They say its a sealed system yet the air compressor has a hose attached to a filter that they say will allow the compressor to use outside air to make up for any small leaks. To me, that means it's not really a closed system but hey, it works.

2017 Jeep with <2k miles...I was driving it put it in sport for a while...turn sport off and got the service air suspension immediately ...Dealer won't see me until Monday afternoon...is it safe to drive? it looks like it is stuck in the lowest position.

What did the dealer say?

If it is all the way down, I would avoid driving it if possible.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Guy from the dealer said it's okay to drive but he didn't sound too convincing...more like he wanted to get me off the phone...i can't believe I am having this issue already...it's barely been two months and I have this issue and some grinding noise from powerlift

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

If it's a sport mode level it should be fine. Mine was stuck at low rider level, you know, the height that the stupid kids in the Hondas think looks cool but you can tell it's riding rough enough to piss blood after awhile. The dealers told me there are bumpers to keep it from metal on metal. As long as your not scraping on stuff. Do you hear the compressor run when you first turn the key on? Have you checked the fuses?

The offroad pages show it at normal height but I know that is not the case. The read seems to lower than the front...like you said kind of that low rider level...when I try to raise it I hear air release and the light in the QL knob starts blinking and after about 1 minute I see in the uconnect screen and dashboard "raising" but it never does and I hear air blowing out from somewhere. I tried pulling the fuses F05 and F87 but they looked fine to me.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

If it's at the bottom...which is typical when there's a compressor failure...you don't want to be driving it other than getting it to the dealer. And drive slowly.

You'd basically be rebuilding the vehicle and generating a large expense...'may be better to trade it in if you don't want the QL.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

2011 with 97,000 on the odometer.

The rear system in mine crapped out this morning. Called the dealer 2 hours away and drove it to them. They'll look at it Monday morning. I picked up one of their rentals. Hopefully I'll have it back before Thanksgiving.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Mine did this when the compressor went out. I replaced it with a compressor from Miessler Automotive USA for $495 and then went to the dealership to have them recharge the nitrogen system which cost me $130. That fixed it for less than the dealership quoted price of $1200 just for the compressor.
