Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Just to put in my 2 cents as a QL owner(and love it). We've used it quite a bit. It's awesome to drop the height for HWY driving. There's been times we've had A LOT of snowfall (18" per storm) where drifting was really bad. Being able to increase ground clearance was really useful to keep snow drag off the chassis.

That being said. After just over 3 years of ownership and literally 1K miles past the 3yr/36K warranty, I've begun to hear creaking from the left front. It has been brief and intermittent and sounds like a bad strut mount bushing. Today noticed that the vehicle body lift sign stayed lit for longer than usual on the dash display. After attempting to actuate the height, the rear lifts quickly, but the front does not. After a bit of this, the compressor cooling message is displayed. I'm assuming the creaking is not strut mount related, but the shock itself now.

Anyone else had an issue like this?

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

I have 2011 Overland which I bought brand new and have had constant problems with the quad lift. I have had to take it into the dealership at least twice a year every year. I love the lift system, its great for getting parents in and out of vehicle when it works, but I am sick of having to take it in to get fixed. I bought extra warranty to cover this, but Chrysler needs to do something about this problem.

They made improvements in the '14 MY. Most of the problems posted here are for pre 14 models.

I have a '14 Overland with 4,000 miles. It's in the dealership for the 3rd time trying to diagnose why it's failing. One more trip, and it qualifies as a lemon.

Question Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

I have a 2015 Summit with 500 miles on it and I just got it back from the dealer where they to replace the front grill for installing the hood deflector incorrectly and gouged out grill. So I go to drive this morning and the vehicle with arrow pointing up keeps flashing indicating its raising, well it kept flashing and flashing and never went up. Now the front end is sitting very low and I don't hear the compressor anymore (which lives behind the grill I think). Any thoughts on this, I have an appointment for next Saturday to see if they can resolve the problem.

My one month '15 Overland did that a few days ago. I'm thinking that the system got "confused", as after I parked and manually hit the "down/park" button, it lowered to park position. Started immediately, and drove away..it went up to "Normal" ride height, and has been working as designed ever since.

When I first started driving mine the system worked flawlessly, then after the dealer changed out the grill it suddenly doesn't work anymore. I know that the compressor lives behind the grill and don't know if it's just a coincidence that after the dealer did the work on it, failure in system or just a faulty part that came from the factory. Either way I have an appointment on Saturday for them to check to see what the problem is, and will update with results.

Unhappy Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

**Update**
Well as it turns out just as I had suspected, when my vehicle was in for the grill replacement, they dealer body shop failed to connect one of the hoses back to the compressor burning it out. So now I have to wait till Tuesday for the parts to come in so they can fix it. I am deeply disappointing at the snow ball effect that the faulty install of one part has caused such problems. Let's see what happens on Tuesday when I get vehicle back.

You may want to confirm they re-fill the system with nitrogen as it's a closed system.... The compressor is right in front of the passenger wheel well in a very unprotected area. Btw- That hose they use for the airlines you won't find in any shop..... It's 6mm size
