Ditto.

Went for lifetime with $100 deductible. One QL compressor replacement will have paid for itself in one visit.

MaxCare makes it their headache instead of mine.

Same exact situation as richalta except over 50k miles and my QL gets used a lot from entry for handicapped Mother-in-law to OR1 and 2 on trails plus the Llams Kit which puts extra usage on the system. No issues - Llams Kit is fully reversible so lifetime warranty should kick in if ever needed.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

I now have this air suspension problem show up on my 2012 Overland. It came up at 117,000 Kms which is about 72,700 miles.
First I got a couple of "Service Air Suspension" notifications pop up, but they went away and I thought nothing of it. Then a week later the message came up again once and went away. Then a few days after that "Service Air Suspension Immediately" came up while I was driving down the highway. It too went away. Then when I got home I tried lowering to park height and I got "Please Wait, System Cooling" message. The next day the messages went away, but I noticed it took a longer than usual time lowering and raising it. I took it to my local shop (not dealer) and he plugged it in and got about 8 error codes come up. Basically he said its a bad compressor. New compressor he said was $2500 CAD. He said there was 191 units on backorder with no ETA, which tells me there are a lot of problems out there. I had the same issue with my 2003 Hummer H2. The compressor went and GM wanted $5000 to replace it. I said screw that and went to a local spring shop and had the airbags replaced with coils for $500. Drove great with no issues. I swore to myself I wouldn't buy a vehicle with air suspension again. I guess i didn't follow my own advise. Nevertheless, I will not pay that kind of money to replace the compressor and have the issue come up again. I will take my Jeep to the same spring shop and have them replace the air bags with coils if I have too. This is bullshit.

Sparro, your situation sounds kinda like someone that's had chest and arm pains but they went away then came back a little more intense so then you finally go see a nurse practitioner but get mad at the cardiologist when they tell you that you need heart surgery now. Ignoring warning signs and then getting upset when a system fails - now THAT is bullshit.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Ya don't think so their BigCat.... The truth of the fact is these air ride suspensions are crap and will fail. Then you will face a bullshit repair bill. Just like all the posters have stated in this thread.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Or you you read all the other threads with no issues. Or the threads of people who purchased max care warranties and weren't stuck with any bullshit repair costs if or when they have a system failure. We all make choices as to when if or where we take our vehicles in for servicing and whether we want pay up front for warranties that may never be needed or face the facts of hoping all goes well but needing to be prepared to pay the costs if something goes bad. Your vehicle sure sounds like it gave you fair warning that a potential repair was in your future hence the messages and the corresponding codes.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

I understand all that. Mine was bought new in 2012. There was no life-time warranty and as far as I know, still no life-time warranty you can buy here. Whether I took it in when the messages first came up or two weeks later when the messages came back it would still be an over priced compressor. I've gone through this before with my H2. It doesn't end well. I'm sure if people keep their Jeeps long enough they will eventually have this issue. The fact that there is a national back order on theses units speaks volumes on their reliability.

i have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland with 69000km and this week i got a message on the screen "service air suspension immediately". Same story as yours...compressor needs replacing for $2500 and part is back ordered. I've had the car for only 3 months and the worst part is that FCA refuses to transfer the extended warranty to my name because of this, but is hiding behind some fine print stating that the transfer must be done within 30 days of purchase. Well you know what...I called on the day i bought the car and added my name to the VIN through customer care...and nobody told me that it only transfers the factory warranty and not the extended warranty...stupid beaurocratic bullsh*t.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

I was just at my dealer and told them the problem. They played stupid and said they've never heard of the problem. I said see if there's compressors available. He checked and said.... Oh, there's a whole bunch on back order with no ETA. So I said and you haven't heard of a problem huh?

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Can anyone here give me some guidance on replacing the airbags with coils? The compressor replacement is pricy and the chances of it failing again at some point does not sit well with me. I'd rather put the money into coils. What would it take put in the coils from the SRT8. I also read that some people were putting in the rear sway bar from the SRT8 as well. If I'm gonna do this I wanna do it right. Any insight would be appreciated.

Difficult and very expensive, if at all possible, Sparro, based on previous commentary in other threads.
