Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Thanks for the information. I'm thinking it might be worth springing for the extended warranty on mine.

Definitely get the extended warranty. At least to extend the bumper-to-bumper coverage to 5 years. I finally got them to transfer it from the previous owner, and the cost of the compressor and labour ($2500) is easily worth the price of the extended warranty. Luckily it came with my preowned jeep but I will definitely get it next time I buy new.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

So my jeep suspension got really bad driving back home. I felt instantly it was the QL, but I had to get back home. No error codes, but the back of the Jeep is sitting low, and the driver back looks like it is as low as it could possibly go. If I try to raise it to OR1 I can hear a ffffff sound from the passenger front.

By the way this is my lemon that is supposed to be changed out tomorrow...

How long will it take to get repaired? I am worried I may not be able to exchange vehicles until it is repaired.

I am answering according to Ohio Lemon Law and the ISG surrender rules. As long as it's the vehicle's or mfr's fault u r OK...meaning, if u bent something like a rim or curb rashed it bad or broke a piece of trim u would have to have it repaired at your expense....Ibtuen my '14 Summit in Tues and the steering rack is shot, she's leaking coolant pretty good from 2 places etc.. But I do not have to have them fixed prior...

Justing, check to see if you might have lost one of your rear sensor links...

That said, I don't think you'll have issues with the "lemon" replacement thing.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Thanks for the input guys. It did give me the warning message when I started the jeep back up.

My ISG rep got back with me and no issue with turning the vehicle over as is.

Should be in my replacement this afternoon.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Hi All,

Jumping in on this thread as it appears my Quadra lift is not functioning.
I am not sure what the cause is but I was involved in a front end accident a few months ago. I was worried about the air suspension system and asked the repair shop to ensure that no damage had been down to the system. Of course they stated everything was fine.

My 2011 Overland has about 120,000 miles on her and the Quadra lift system has been great since I picked her up used with about 70,000 miles on the clock.

How it started. After driving to work the other day I heard the compressor running after I shut of the Jeep. I restarted the Jeep then shut it off hoping it would shut down the system. Didn't work. I then disconnect the battery because I couldn't read the fuse box cover for the fuse location. The system was off when I reconnected the battery.

Drove home and the jeep seemed okay, no warning lights or error messages, but then again I didn't try the system. The next day I drove to work then home without issue. On Saturday I went to the driveway and noticed the jeep sitting lower all around. I started the jeep pushed and it reported being in the park setting. I pushed the up button and didn't notice any movement. Opened the hood and could barley hear the compressor going, sounded very weak, and I got the "system cooling down" message.

Anyway, Any thoughts on what should be checked?
I am away for a conference but want to get things moving with the insurance company, if they'll reopen the claim, or start trouble shooting the system when I get back home.

Thanks.
Falcon

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Just had a compressor replaced under the aftermarket warranty. Second time its been in the shop for the issue in the past few months. Both times the Jeep had lowered itself completely. The first time the shop said an airbag blew, which is pretty hard to do afaik, and replaced the airbag and refilled the system. Also under warranty.

Had the same problem occur a month later. Returned to the shop and this time the compressor had failed. This was also replaced under warranty and I have been driving it 136mi each day for the past week with OK results. The compressor still runs excessively and will give the Air Suspension Cooling Down warning. I fear there is still another issue that needs resolved. Just waiting for the day I walk outside and see it sitting low again. If any other problems occur I will be trying another dealer.

This Jeep isnt used offroad or in rough terrain. The roads and sand/salt here in Iowa are quite tough on her, though.

The Quadra-lift system has its purpose but the novelty factor told me not to worry when I chose this particular model. It has kind of turned into a shit show because of it.

I would think given what you described, you have a leak in the system somewhere causing the compressor to run constantly. I am no mechanic, but the lines running to the back bags or fittings close to the airbags may have been corroded by the winter salt? Dunno, but I would proactively take it to a different dealer. I have never seen the compressor needs to cool down message on mine.

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Hi All,

Thought I'd post an update.
Got the Overland back from the dealership yesterday and she is back to riding at different heights, air suspension working again.

They determined it to be a compressor failure. They couldn't find any leaks in the system after refilling the tank as it was completely empty. After they filled the tanks the vehicle returned to the normal ride position but would not raise or lower and there was some minor pressure drop. They disabled the compressor and let her sit over night and there was no drop in pressure. They said they spoke with STAR, engineering service I'm guessing at Chrysler, and were told to replace the compressor.

The Compressor came with new solenoids, some new lines, fittings, and the compressor. They replaced all and now the Overland is working properly.

Total cost was a little over $2400. The service group was awesome and very informative at every step.

Lesson learned. Next time get a Jeep with a normal suspension system and go aftermarket products to lift her.

I do have to add my Overland has 120,000 miles on the clock so some wear and tear is expected, but $2400 is a bite.
