It was $1000 when I bought mine in mid-July. I was looking at inventory online using the "search inventory" function on jeep.com when I found one dealer that had the one I ended up buying listed with a $3700 discount. When I called to ask about it, the salesman told me that included $1000 in loyalty cash. I was trading in a Jeep so it worked out well for me. $3700 under MSRP for a newly released vehicle with no haggling? I'll take it.

Thanks for that link! Interesting in that it doesn't mention a 3.09 axle in any configuration. Another question for the engineers during the chat!

Why would one want a 3.09 axle? If one wants a long ratio, would the 3.06 not be beefy enough for use with the V8?

Re: Quadra what??

No, all the previous info supplied here and on WK2Jeeps had the Off Road packages getting the 3.09 axle with both engines, and the Hemi getting a 3.09 with the QDII. Further reports need to follow! Your info showed a 3.45, and previously, that was never shown.

Understood. But I'd rather have the 3.45 anyway. More grunt when needed. It's a relative gas guzzler anyway.

Re: Quadra what??

And the reason I didn't want to order the Off Road package...didn't want that tall 3.09 ration.

Re: Quadra what??

are the 3.09 and 3.45 gear ratios all that are offered now?? mine has 3.73s w/ V8.. i guess the question is do they (kinda) make up for the TALL ratios in the tranny...

Looks like 3.06 is standard in all 6 cyl JGCs. With the V8 you get a 3.47 for all JGCs except the 4X4 Overland that gets a 3.45 ratio. I wonder why the exception. No more 3.09 mentioned in the latest data I have. To your point, I find it not very useful to just state axle ratios without giving the overall ratio (engine/wheel) at least in high gear.
