question about the qt11 in the 2015 gc summit

i mentioned this vehicle to my brother and he said to absolutely stay away from it because its a all wheel drive vehicle but it says 4x4 on it and he said that it will chew through tires and have all sorts of other issues since it is a all wheel drive vehicle. is any of this true and when should i say to him in response

Re: question about the qt11 in the 2015 gc summit

Modern 4x4/AWD vehicles do not "chew through tires" like the older 4x4 systems in 4x4 mode on pick-em-up-trucks did/do. The 4x4 drive train in the JGC moves freely and allows all four corners what they need to turn and function without extra wear on the tires. In fact, outside of the extra traction during inclement weather and other related driving conditions, you'll never notice you have a 4x4. Your brother apparently isn't aware of how these drive trains function these days...

Re: question about the qt11 in the 2015 gc summit

Aside from what was already said, this is a true four wheel drive with a 2 speed transfer case. Your brother means well, but he is out of date.
