Rear shock access

Need to replace right rear shock on 2011, how do I access the top nut of the shock? Do I need to remove sub woofer and trim panel?

Thanks

No lol. Just take the wheel off and look up there. You wheel see two bolts for the shock mount that you remove to get the shocks out. You'll need an extender to reach up there. Almost had a mechanic pull my cargo area apart before he figured it out. You may want to use an impact gun to tighten the upper shock bolt. or you can probably get away with using vice grips on the shaft of the shock although chrysler recommends not doing it this way. I was skeptical the first time I saw it done but after feeling the shaft of the shock after using vice grips, I could tell it was completely smooth and there was no damage.

Re: Rear shock access

That's great, thanks. Haven't taken the wheel off to look, just looked like I had to get to it from inside. Taking those interior panels off is never fun. ...
