Recommend Brakes For My Ride Please

Going to need new brakes for my vehicle and looking for recommendations. I have a 2012 Grand Cherokee Laredo X. Majority of my driving is highway, but I do sit in traffic a lot. I'm looking for brakes that have strong stopping power and don't steal. What would you guys recommend?

Re: Recommend Brakes For My Ride Please

I used slotted and drilled rotors from brakeperformance.com with Wagner ThermoQuiet pads. Smooth strong stopping with no noise.

I would go with Centric blank rotors or wagner black hats with centric pads or akebono. If you are into retail stores Duralast gold or wearever platinum are good pads too.

Laredo X, I'm assuming you have the V6?

If so, you can easily upgrade to the OEM V8 (heavy duty) brakes which would increase stopping power.

There's another thread that outlines the required OEM parts to complete the conversion.
CONFIRMED! Heavy duty brake bolt on implace of ND brakes

You can do just the front or the rear too, but if you do the rear, you will need to bleed the brakes.

As for rotors, when I upgrade my GC, I'm going with these:
High Performance Brake Pads and Brake Rotors - Frozen Rotors

Fortunately for me, they are located right here in the Twin Cities, so I would only need to pay taxes, not shipping.

No, I actually have the Hemi with no towing, but I do believe I already have the HD brakes.

Re: Recommend Brakes For My Ride Please

Check your rear rotors if they are vented then you have the 350mm front discs and HD brakes. If solid you have the 330mm fronts.

Re: Recommend Brakes For My Ride Please

Thanks for that pic. That certainly helps. I called the dealer to sk them to look up the parts by my VIN. They gave me the part numbers for the standard brakes which are the 330mm. My Jeep is in the shop right now, so I can't double check.

The Hawks (truck version) brake pads are great, no noise very little dust. I suggest to get the part no. from tirerack.com and then order cheaper from Amazon.

I actually saw them cheaper at Autoanything. Amazon was my first stop, but AA was much cheaper.
