I switched them out at 40K, but they still had 6/32 available. I frankly had no issue with the Forteras on my MY12 and the only reason I switched when I did was an upcoming vacation trip with my family...I didn't want to risk hydroplaning during potential heavy rains over thousands of miles.

OP - what are your winters like? Alabama has different tire needs compared to Chicago or Nu Yawk. We may not see anything but snow flurries for three years then get 1" that shuts down all schools and businesses for two days.

Re: Replace OEM TIRES ??

The Bridgestone duelers are around $240 a piece . I'm sticking with the Goodyear fortera's . I never really had problems with them . There's so many choicest for tires and absolutely no way for me to test drive with each . I think it's best to just stick with what I'm familiar with . I would hate to get something and regret it .

Re: Replace OEM TIRES ??

Geepers...that's high for the Duelers I think. I got the Pirelli Scorpion Verde Pluses for effectively $180 each after rebates. (not including local installation which is about $25 each plus the alignment I know I need)

Take a look at your jeep dealer when buying tires they run these buy 3 get 1 free sales. Typically when you hear that you think they just jack the price up on the other 3. But i had my dealer work up a quote on ordering the Defenders and it was indeed buy 3 get 1 free, the price could not be beat by anyone i tried including tire rack. They also would order whatever i wanted it wasnt stock items only.

+1 - I did this for the Defender LTX MS tires I bought fall of last year. So far it's been a good tire.

Read the reviews. Do you think everyone tests all tire options before they buy?

BTW Tirerack has the Dueller Alenza's for 197.55 and Ecopia's for 163.55

Re: Replace OEM TIRES ??

If I swap tires I think it will be GY Adventure AT's which will be on the Trailhawk. Or maybe I will just trade my HA for a TH and save myself the $1200 for tires even though I might lose $10-12K in trade. That's how my mind rationalizes it.

I found that too . Thanks . It turned out that I only needed 2 new tires after all . I showed him the price for the Duelers and he said fine but he would have to order them . If I needed all 4 tires then I would have done it but I decided to stick with the GOOD YEARS . He had them in stock .
