Replace OEM TIRES ??

Dueler Ecopia H/L 422 Plus tire 265/50R20 BSW All Season LRR Tires"
Vs
Good year fortera's .
My 2014 Summit grand Cherokee's Good year Fortera's are pretty much shot and I'm looking to replace all 4 but I'm hearing about the new tires Bridgestone tires on the 2016 models . Wondering if anyone knows which gives the better ride .

Re: Replace OEM TIRES ??

A lot of positive reviews on the Michelin Premier LTX. If I still ran OEM size that would be my choice.

I had the Fortera's on my 14 Overland and now the Ecopia's on my 16 HA.

Nothing really stands out to me between the two with the low amount of miles I've put on the 16 so far. Part of the reason is the HA rides a little differently than the Overland due to the minor suspension change so it's hard to tell if the tires play any role in that.

The Ecopia's seem to handle well and they're quiet on the highway. Too early for me to tell how well they'll wear.

Re: Replace OEM TIRES ??

I just ordered Pirelli Scorpion Verde Plus. I considered the Dualers as well as the LX, but decided that I liked the Pirelli's better. And with a $60 mft rebate, $100 DTD holiday rebate, 3% EBates rebate and AMEX points..."the price was right".

Also consider the Cooper Discoverer SRX as a replacement. It is an excellent tire in all season conditions.

M+S rated, 65K mileage treadwear.

Re: Replace OEM TIRES ??

I have MY15 GC Summit, when the time comes sooner than later, I will replace with Michelin's. I am running Michelin LTX M/S2 on a 14 Ram 1500 Longhorn CC 4x4, non-air ride suspension, smooth ride, handles extremely well under all conditions, and not showing any signs of irregular wear. Over the years, Michelin Tire brand has performed admirably over the years here in central PA.

A lot of tires guys will try to sell you what they have in stock and not what the best option is for you. Do your research before you buy and don't just buy because you think you're getting a good deal. Find the tire you want and then look for the best price on it.

I think most people in the forum do agree that the Fortera's are junk.

I am a michelin fan also the next on my 2014 Summit will be the Defender LTX MS. Premiers are a good tire also I'd go with those if I were all on road. Defenders let you dabble off road a little bit but still great on road manners. Tires are one area I never skimp on money wise I just buy the best I can find for my situation.

Had those Pirellis on my Caddy SRX to replace the Michelins that it came with. Michelins were horrible in the wet and a tad noisy. Pirelli Scorpion were quiet, didn't hydroplane and were quiet. Check out the reviews at Tirerack.

Re: Replace OEM TIRES ??

Recently fitted the Scorpion Verde's on my JGC. Done 3000 miles on them and they are way better than the stock Michelins. Quiet and a much quicker tip in when cornering. Like them a lot......
