Replica wheels

I have been looking at various 18" and 20" wheel replicas, primarily from carID.com and Factory Reproductions. The prices look quite reasonable, but I have seen a number of comments from unhappy purchasers who claim, among other things, that the wheels are often of unequal weight, out of round or poorly finished, with chrome flaking off shortly after purchase. It turns out, apparently, that most are made in China, which could help to explain the poor quality control and questionable materials used in their production.

I'm sure some of you have these wheels on your rigs. Would anyone care to comment on their experiences or the quality of their wheels? Are any of the SRT or Viper replicas made in North America? And, if so, are they just too expensive for most of you to consider? Can you recommend a supplier or manufacturer whose wheels you have been particularly pleased with?

I have yet to find a design (machine/black combination) that appeals to me among the very limited selections available for the WK2 from domestic manufacturers.

Thanks for your input.

Ernest

Re: Replica wheels

I've had the SRT replicas for about 4 months...no problems whatsoever...so far. They complement the WK2 perfectly. The SRT wheels from Jeep were super expensive so I went with the replicas.

Re: Replica wheels

I know of people who have sold their OEM SRT8 wheels, for SRT Reps....

they obviously must be of great comparison to one another.
