Has anyone installed the RRO WK2 leveling kit? And if you have, could you please include some pictures? I just bought one and I am afraid the front end is going to be too high.
Just did mine a week ago to fit 20x9 ET18 wheels wrapped in 275/55R20 Terra Grapplers. I'm on my tablet so pics are a little difficult to post, but the front sits very close to even with the rear, leaving virtually no rake. Pics tomorrow when I get on my pc. IMHO, it's damn near perfect.
Was the spacing inside the rear wheel well affected at all by teh leveling kit. It looks like possibly it woulld be in the front rear slightly when the front is raised. Did you have to trim the fender liner or anything? Have you flexed it under different conditions yet?
Thanks for the info. Another thing I meant to ask was is there a difference in the ride with the front leveled? Is there more wind noise and things like that. Flu is really going around, hope u beat it soon
I don't notice any more wind noise than normal. And to me, with the new wheels and tires, ride has actually improved. I don't even notice any tie noise at this point, but I expect that to change once I get some miles on the tires.
That's good to hear. Now that they're on with the leveling do you think you'll be O.K. with moderate off road use considering the space in the wheel well?
NO heavy off roading, I did take it threw a fairly good angled ditch and it rubbed a bit, but I have 275/55's on there, so a 32" tire is about the biggest you can run. If you stick with stock size tires I don't think you will have any issues. You do get more room up front. I wish I would have taken some pics with just the lift with stock tires, but I didn't. Lift went on on Tuesday and Tires went on Wednesday.
I think the jeep looked great leveled out even with the stock wheel and tire size. It sat like it should have from the factory. IMHO.
I noticed the other night that on the driver's side front, the black trim near the rear of the front bumper was pulled out a bit. When Discount initially fitted my wheels & tires before I installed the leveling kit, they broke one of the little plastic rivets that holds that piece in place. Somehow, I'm guessing the other night my driver's side front wheel made contact with that trim piece and pulled it out just a bit. Nothing I can't fix with a new plastic rivet, but I guess it does rub just a bit under the right circumstances. My driveway at home is pretty angled getting in & out and I think what probably happened is the driver front suspension was compressed while the rest was more or less unloaded, resulting in some minor contact with that trim piece. No damage done, though. Just something I'll need to be mindful of. Has to do with the aggressive offset (+18) of my wheels, though.
Sh0rtBus, hope you get your rub/contact issues figure out. Keep us looped in on what you end up doing. I'm doing my mods one at a time, mostly due to available funds, but also to make sure I have as much info as I can get before pulling the trigger. That said, I just ordered RRO leverling kit (& roof rails but that's for a different thread). How "easy" is the installation? I bought Tuff Country leveling kit for my 2011 WK2 but never installed it b4 I totaled the vehicle because I knew I couldn't finish the install b4 I needed to drive it!
Installation wasn't bad at all. Total time for me and my buddy took about 2.5 hours, start to finish. And we weren't in any hurry. Of course we had the proper tools and work space, too, though. He's a mechanic for the school district, so we used the shop there with his air tools, etc. for this job. Really, though, as long as you have a good assortment of sockets, wrenches, a good floor jack, and jack stands, it can be done at home. The hardest part was figuring out what needed to be removed before taking out the passenger's side front strut assembly. Once we figured that out, the rest was cake. Driver's side went much smoother and quite a bit faster, too. You will want to take a wire brush to the threads on the spacers, though. Mine were covered with powdercoating so we spent a few minutes getting that off and making sure the threads were clean before mounting everything together to bolt back onto the GC. Seems like maybe RRO should've taped those threads off before applying the powdercoat. Simple step that would saved quite a bit of hassle for us consumers during the install.
I think the install is pretty easy if you have all the tools and time. I had mine installed by a shop just to make sure it is done correct and I don't have an unexpected tool purchase. It really is just a spacer that sits on top of the strut. If you have removed a strut before you should have no issues.
I think with this wheel/Tire combo and the limited lift, you will have a rubbing issue in extreme flexing situations. I don't go threw many ditches like that so I consider it resolved.
With your RRO Roof Rails start looking for a wind fairing. They are a little noisy at freeway speeds. Good luck and keep us posted.
I'm going to be purchasing the leveling kit soon for my 2014 Limited stock with rear load-leveling suspension. I know it will help in the front, but when I look at the rear there really is alot of space taken up by the fender liners. Looks like there's some play in them when pushed toward the fender. Everything is attached (rivets and all), I'm assuming there's some space between the liner and finer to soften noise from debris hitting it, but I'm wondering if everyone's is like that or if a thinner liner that is adhered closer to the fender can be put on in place of the stock ones to give more room.
Thanks.
Just got back today from about a 2000 mile trip. 500 Miles towing a Truck on a uhaul car hauler. Weight about 6500#. MPG sucked down to about 11 MPG.
However the tires and lift was great. The only thing I noticed was that the FCW system turned off and I can only assume because it was point up instead of out.
The rest of the trip the lift was great and no rubbing or noise issues.
Finally snapped a decent pic of my Jeep half way clean with the RRO leveling kit and 20x9 ET18 XD Monsters and 265/60R20 Terra Grapplers. Just took it on a 1500 mile trip from DFW to New Madrid, MO and it did great! Picked up a nail somewhere along the way though, so off to Discount tomorrow morning to get a tire patched.

I have never posted before, so this may land in completely the wrong place. I just got my leveling kit installed and it was $270, which was 3 hours labor and did not include an alignment. I'm planning on giving it a few days to settle before getting the alignment, realizing it's probably not necessary to wait. The front is about a half inch higher than the back right now, but expect that to settle. I think it looks great as is, even if it doesn't settle more. I still have the old tires and rims on, so not caring a lot how they will wear between now and Monday when I get the alignment somewhere and the new tires and wheels from Discount Tire. I ordered 18x9 10 offset 5x127 American Outlaw Regulator rims. The tires are 275/65R18 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. I also tried my hand at blacking out the rear chrome piece and the grill with plasti-dip spray. The cheesy little skull on the side is from Wal-Mart and also plasti-dip sprayed.
I installed the kit the other day on my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Looks and rides great!
I have 275/55/20's on stock rims and now getting a slight rub on the front passenger side when fully turned to the right. I don't think I had this before the kit was installed. Anyone else having any issues?
Had the leveling kit for a several months on stock wheels/tires and no rubbing in any condition that I've been in. Got some new shoes today (Cooper Discoverer ATP 275/55-20) and no rubbing at full left or right. But it is pretty tight back there so I can see if I was turning up to a curb/ramp or do anything to compress the suspension quickly it would rub. I've been reading up on the spacers thread and am thinking about getting some spacers to give it more clearance.
So I recently purchased the RRO Leveling kit, going to have it installed friday. My question is if I don't like the even look, is there an equal lift for the rear so I dont have to uninstall it and have a full lift. I feel like 2.5 inch lift is going to be far to high if I went full lift
I installed the 1.75 front leveling kit and I feel it looks great. It does not look higher than the rear. I need to get some picture on here so you can see.
im going to get 18s with either 275/65 or 275/70 wrangler duratrac i need the height up front but if i dont likd the level look id like to add the extra height to the back without goin full 2.5 inch full lift
cherokee santa,
im just wondering if they make something equivalent for the rear "just in case". i def do not want to do it just being cautious ahead of time. Pics would be great!!!!
I have the leveling kit and have 275/65R18 duratracs with 10 offset rims and get some rubbing in slight turns and on going over bigger humps and dips in the road even without turning.
