Rotor resurfacing, only $500!!

Just got a call from the Jeep dealer. My car is there for some warranty issues plus there is a pulsation when braking. The service adviser calls me and asks me if I do a lot of highway driving. I let him know I do. He told me I wouldn't need pads or rotors but they can resurface the rotors. I'm thinking wow, this guy is looking to save me money. As the title says, they wanted $500 to resurface four rotors. Am I missing something here? I told him thanks, but no thanks. I'm a divisional manager for an auto parts company and I'm sure I can buy centric rotors for $27 a piece and it wouldn't make sense.

Yea biggee the service advisor is a real sport. 😄 like you say you can get 4 new high performance drilled and slotted rotors for about half that price. They don't call them stealerships for nothing. Actually you would be hard pressed to find anybody that even turns rotors anymore. Just doesn't pay when you can get new ones for the same money.

New rotors and better pads can be had for close to that price.

Re: Rotor resurfacing, only $500!!

I've never had good luck having rotors turned. They always seem to come back more warped than when they started. I now just replace with new.
