rubber knocking from rear shocks - nov 2014 build

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if any one has a dull rubber knocking from the rear shocks.

I have a nov 2014 build australian limited (diesel) with the non-airm, load levelling suspension (all our aus models get it i think).

it only happens over bumps and sounds like a squash ball rolling around really fast - knocks a couple of times a second.

i saw some people had issues with the earlier builds but mine has the revised "H" rev shocks fitted which was suposed to fix those issues - so i am thinking it could be something else.

it was almost non existent at 0kms but as i have racked up 1000kms it has gotten worse.

thanks for any advise - and thanks for a great site - really help with my purchase

Re: rubber knocking from rear shocks - nov 2014 build

Hi Steve,
I have a 2014 build Laredo diesel with similar sounds from the rear shocks, over bumps and potholes the front seems controlled while the rear end seems to flop about. Its almost like there is no rebound control. I have been thinking a set of ARB shocks might fix it.
This doesn't solve your problem but it doesn't look like an isolated situation.
Moved to Grand Cherokee diesel from 08 Patrol, am happy apart from the above.

There is a TSB for this. It seems at around 2k miles there is something in the bushings that go out. They replaced mine under the TSB and no issues so far. Not sure if the 14's are included in the TSB or not though.
