Separate wheels or just change tires?

Hello,

I recently purchased a set of WK SRT reps and had the OEM fortera's mounted on them. I'm having a tough time deciding whether I should keep the OEM 20s and put winter tires on them, or just keep the SRT reps on the car and change tires at the beginning and end of winter...

I think the Fortera's will do fine for me in the summer until they wear out but from the reviews they are extra terrible in the winter. We don't get much snow in Seattle but it would be nice to feel a bit more confident out there if it does or if I go skiing.

So, have two sets of wheels with two set of tires? Or just swap tires for the winter?

For the price you will get upon selling them, I would just keep them. Have 2 sets, one for summer and another for trails/winter/etc. That't what I have now.. 2 sets of 18" wheels (original set and a set from 2012 Wrangler Unlimited w/ Dueler AT tires).

Re: Separate wheels or just change tires?

That's a good point. I'm just thinking for the amount I actually drive a year, around 8k miles, having a separate set might be unecessary. I had to have a separate set on my old car, a 2002 BMW M3 on coilovers because the ultra performance tires on 19s just wasn't going to cut it in the winter.

I purchased the jeep to be more utilitarian and less of a hassle. I think I might go with a set of Terra Grapplers or Silent Armors and call it a day.
