Shift Lever

Some pictures of the Overland edition show a matching wood gear shift handle, and some show a black leather wrapped handle. Were the leather ones just from pre-production models? The wood looks much better!

Re: Shift Lever

The Limited and Overland comes with the wooden shift the Laredo with the black. Obviously it is a taste thing but I have to say I prefer the black (I feel too young for the wooden ;o)

Question Re: Shift Lever

Can you link that pic? All the pics in WK2Jeeps have the leather knob, and nothing shows in the accessories catalogs. I would prefer wood also!

Re: Shift Lever

I looked at several you tube videos of Overlands. Some were at dealers and they all had black leather shift handles. The one I saw with wood was a jeep video not a dealer and I think it also had the saddle interior. I really hope the one I have ordered with black interior has the wood handle.

Re: Shift Lever

If the wood is not on the regular Overland, just like the power folded mirrors, they could put these items on the new Overland summit edition,or on the 2012 jeep line up,you don't want to put everything on the first and second year, you hold off with some of the options for the future to justify price increase and also to make the jeep a little different than the current model in the future.

Re: Shift Lever

Here is the link to the you tube video that shows the wood lever on the overland. The picture above is a Laredo it would not have the wood shift lever anyway.

Re: Shift Lever

After looking at some other you tube videos like the one I have linked below, I don't believe that the Overland will come with a wood shift lever. I am very disappointed!

Re: Shift Lever

man, i know its off topic, but that saddle interior makes it look a lot more luxurious...IMO, especially with the black piping...

Re: Shift Lever

FWIW: That was the pre-production interior. There have been changes since the 2009 release photos.
