Just curious: Where would those tow hooks go on a Summit?

Switch back and forth between the pix of the Overland and the Summit on the Official Jeep website. You just see that the outsides of the lower black grill are solid on the Summit. They probably pop out.

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure. My quote was for a Limited, I should've specified that in my previous quote.

Re: Skid plates for the 2014 Summit-- how much?

OP, if you like the Summit deal, especially if you have the military pricing and shipping discounts, DO IT and do not hesitate to install the skids and towhooks after purchase. I and many others here did this exactly. You can either do it yourself, or pay the man.

There are threads here showing DIY for both, they are reasonably straightforward and really only require time. The skids will need an extra hand and/or a floor jack to hold them while mounting the bolts, but that's it. DIY links below. I would not sweat any mild differences (if any) between the '11-'13 MY vs. the '14 so long as you are buying the proper year parts to match your vehicle MY.

Re: Skid plates for the 2014 Summit-- how much?

Alright... I guess I should change my sig to ordered...

'14 Summit, V6, Black/Black...

Without the extra charges for the extended warranty/shipping overseas, I'm at just under $47K for it. I'm thinking that's a pretty good price (i Hope nobody comes in and tells me that's a rip-off now!)

Thanks, all, for the help!

Now, if one of the vendors keeps my name in the hat, once I get the Jeep delivered (figure it'll take until June or July by the time I get it, including the long-ass trip overseas), I'm totally in the market for skids/tow hooks, and probably 18'' wheels.

Interesting.

Let's see how that plays out.

Re: Skid plates for the 2014 Summit-- how much?

I asked the local dealer here about skid plates (ORI) for the 2014 Summit and they said they are waiting for the Jeep Rep Engineer to let them know if it will fit. Have been waiting a couple of weeks. No answer yet.

Re: Skid plates for the 2014 Summit-- how much?

So does this mean that the ORII skid plates can not be ordered as parts and put on a 2014 Summit with the 20 inch wheels by the dealer?

Re: Skid plates for the 2014 Summit-- how much?

Hi, first time here! Been to a dealer yesterday and waiting for an offer on a 2014 Summit!

Anyone able to install skid plates on 2014 gc summit? Dealer was pretty much... "I don't know anything" had to take the GC from the truck to show me... weird! I need skid plates since I drive a lot going to ski resorts in bad roads!

Milous posted a PDF with all the 2014 accessories yesterday. That should give you the information you need to order them.

Re: Skid plates for the 2014 Summit-- how much?

So if we can order the skid plates from the dealer and they are the same as on the other Jeeps, is it known yet with certitude whether they can actually fit the Summit and without causing any over heating or other problems? My dealer does not know anything about this.
