Snow Tires - First time

For the first time ever I have pulled the trigger on a separate set of tires, snow tires. I'm looking forward to running the Blizzak DM-V1's all winter long! Now this weather needs to get below 45 degrees.

Re: Snow Tires - First time

I remember using my first studded snow tires. It was like having cheat codes on old school Nintendo games. Not even a comparison to all season tires in the snow and ice. Have fun and be safe most importantly.

Re: Snow Tires - First time

Y'all could swing out this way for the weekend.
Supposed to hit 18F tonight down on the flats, and plenty of the white stuff to keep you amused if you hit the mountain back roads. [I-70 will likely be a parking lot or bumper car track or both]

Wash your mouth out!!!

I'm hoping to be able to drive my Corvette for another couple of weeks, before parking it, and driving the Jeep 100% of the time.....

Re: Snow Tires - First time

Supposed to get some light snow later this week (on 11/18) in the Twin Cities.

It will probably grid-lock the highways during rush hour because there are so many morons with bald tires.

Youll be happy you did! as long as we get some cold weather and snow soon :]. What size tires did you go with for those stock altitude rims?

Absolutely correct. Morons with illegal tread depth are, in my opinion, the biggest winter driving problem.

Re: Snow Tires - First time

In the Northwest it's anybody without dedicated snow tires for the 2 storms we get every winter. Driving in snow and ice on flat ground is easy. Doing it up and down steep hills is impossible without the right tires.

Put them on. The ride is quiet and feels great. Snow coming this weekend so it will be the first test.

Re: Snow Tires - First time

I had them on a 1500 RAM for 2 years and the difference was night and day. Even though it was 4WD it absolutely SUCKED without the Blizzaks.
With them... entirely different vehicle. You will be happy
