Greetings,

Just got the answer from Nokian.

Original they were going to name the tire Roteva, but they felt that Rotiva was better. The word Roteva in Finish means, in this case, tough, robust and strong.
Interesting. It sounds right about this tire.

Best for now.

Re: so, snows or good A/T replacement

I am currently looking into Nokian WRG3 SUV after much thought and reading various reviews. I do think the Cooper AT/W would also be a great choice but they would require a rim change to 17" as they are not currently available in the OEM spec. The closest Nokian dealer to me is about 2 hours away.

Greetings,

I order my Nokian'f from tiresbyweb.com, an authorized online dealer and had my local GY dealer install them. Check out their prices for reference.

The Cooper AT/W is similar to the Nokian Rotiva AT (the plus does not have the snowflake symbol) for on/off road all terrain tire. The question ask yourself, do I need an AT tire where I live?

Best for now.

Both the CooperA/TW and the Nokian WR G3 are classed as allweather tires and are both snowflake rated.

Greetings,

Do you have to drive thru deep packed or heavy wet snow? Then, I would go with an AT type tire. But, look into the more aggressive one's that I suggested earlier in this thread.

Otherwise, the as you most likely have read about the Nokian WRG3 SUV, they have an excellent grip for a none studded dedicated winter tire that is also all season. Reach out to the WRG3 SUV folks here regarding driving in deep packed or heavy wet snow.

This is hard decision to make, I know went thru this a lot of times. My father taught me get the best tire possible, it is important.

Best for now.

Re: so, snows or good A/T replacement

I think I have now decided to go with the Goodyear Duratracs for the GC. I currently run them on my JKU and they are great for the winter conditions we get around this area Grey Bruce county in Ontario. Size required to match OEM IS available.
I kinda wonder if they might look too aggresive and would appreciate any pics from anyone who has on a GC.
As for the Nokian WGR3 SUV I think they will be my choice as replacements on my 2009 Subaru Forester and they do have correct size available.
Appreciate all the various comments from all who have posted.
