Speedometer Calibration

Hey guys new 2015 Jeep Wk2 Altitude addition to the my jeep family (which includes a 1990 YJ I have had since my freshman year in college) and question for you guys running 275/55/20's and/or 285/50/20's regarding the speedometer... Have read a lot of posts here and at jeep forums concerning these tire upgrade sizes working particularly in the non-AT stock (ie: Mich lsx m/s2's and conti's lx20's or the like) but haven't really seen any mention since around the 2012 time period about dealerships being able to recalibrate the speedometer for these sizes which at that time it was not apparently possible for the dealerships to do so... Is anyone running that's sizes with the speedometer recalibrate and, if so, did the dealership accomplish same as the service manager at my ordering dealership said they could make it happen but I would feel a lot more comfortable if a fellow jeeper verified that such a thing is dealership capable... Thanks for the help guys as I am counting down the days to my new build and filling in my time with upgrade research accordingly!!!!

Re: Speedometer Calibration

Any updates to this? I'm thinking about putting 275/55r20's on a WK2 but really don't want a new vehicle with a speedo that is 3-4mph off. I'll ask GDE if they can fix the speedo with a flash of the ECU.

Re: Speedometer Calibration

I asked my dealer to recalibrate for the 275/55/20's, when I went in for my first oil change, he said no problem. When I picked it up he informed me that the computer only has options for the stock size, they can't change it.

That sucks. I spoke with GDE and they said the calibration options for speedo/odo are in the body computer, not the ECU. They said they can adjust it with their dealer tool.
